Excel says: We're sorry, we couldn't open your workbook. It's possibly corrupt or using a file format that's not supported.

EDIT: Never mind, it works in Google Sheets.

2016 got the highest participation with 93 jurors. I thought we were going to reach 100 doublers at some point, but...

this is my problem....I want to like all the movies people have been excited enough to nominate but 90% are too fucking sexist to enjoy (I tried fooling myself for years that it was OK but I don't care anymore) plus also the personal kinks of disliking child-based movies (possibly related to above ie rejecting supposed maternal norms that I'm meant to have) plus my necrophilia (silent movies) and I just don't see how any consensus is ever gonna be reached or what the point of voting really is.....but anyway.....I still have a list of about 300 from this year that I plan to watch :D

oh, I didn't feel like I was attacking Angel! as he's one of the lowest raters he hates movies more than we do :))) I just get worried he'll get so disillusioned one year that he'll stop doing it....

I guess Eastern European war films are also a bit of a niche in thrir melancholy. I love the sub-genre in general for their far more bleak and un-glamour used depiction of war, with all fun removed. In this case in particular you also have the unnerving tension between our leads, and how at least I couldn't see where it was going. Granted, I'm generally just a ducker for bleak beautiful films as well, not sure if there's anything extra for you to get. ;)

In terms of black antisocial comedies I nominated Buffet Froid myself, but that failed to make the cut by quite an inch, though I have been very lucky with most of my other nominees so far. Jane B. For Agnès V. Not making the cut was the only thing that really disappointed me as it made the list in the past and this time it was not even close. Honestly, a top 10 of all-time candidate for me.

I love eastern European and soviet war films. Just not that one

Ditto black comedy but to each their own. I will check buffet froid but now I'm gonna watch this Vince Vaughn masterpiece (I love prison films)

i guess i could try not to identify with female characters so much lol

Not seen this one. I guess I'm sceptical about the concept of a Vince Vaughan masterpiece :D

But I am intruiged.

And really nice to hear you love Eastern Block war films in general, this one is definitely different.

30 mins was all i could stand. we're supposed to believe gangster white boy was forced to become a drug trafficker cuz he lost his job as an auto mechanic? come on

edit: ok i read some reviews, i'll wait til he gets to prison lol but ONLY because it's gonna be an official check. he's a 'true-blue' american even if he's broken the law

at least batman and the avengers didn't get in?

i'm just being a grouch today, i didn't even nominate anything

edit: why do all the minorities hate vince vaughn?? is it the same reason i hate him?

White Genocide Replacement Theory: The Movie. MRA White Grievance Absorbs Shocks Until It Just Can Not Until It Overflows. - nathaxnne review :cowboy:

https://letterboxd.com/unawarewolf/film ... -block-99/

this movie is FASCIST ART. read the comments there if you dare

i think it's also a bad looong boring movie but i doubt i could've ever enjoyed it due to my hatred for vince vaughn :? john wick was 1000% better :P

Wow... Now I kinda want to see it to see just how far into overt Fascist territory it goes.

Also, damn it, you should have nominated films, rischka! Over on ICMForum where people could promote films and I managed to get quite a few obscure favourites of mine over the line and into the list. I think I got 7 new viewers for one of them. The only issue with that is that people who are not actively inclined to see them. My nomination of Yvonne Rainer's MURDER and murder fell short, likely for that reason, will be interesting to compare it's rating to Privilege, which I did not push after the response to the former. Quite likely won't make the cut-off though.

emphasis on babies and abortion turned my stomach. did people really not find that a bit weird? there's some intense gore in the last ~30 mins or so which is apparently the main attraction ~i watch a lot of violent stuff but i looked away. vince vaughn breaks someone's head w/his foot. he's those guys at the capitol. he doesn't want to do bad things but he's forced to to preserve his family/race. just yuck

this is my view. so far no rants on my lb review: insurrectionist porn :pirates: and i won't post on icm looking for a fight tho i was tempted

Haha, wow, I wonder what people see in it. Must be Vaughn's stellar acting.

In other news Privilege actually made holdover, so extremely happy about that. Now let's see if we can get an intersectional feminist film exploring menopause onto the list next year.

All my nominations have been revealed already:

In:

Der Hauptmann von Köpenick / The Captain from Köpenick (1931, Richard Oswald)
Film ohne Titel / Film Without a Name (1948, Rudolf Jugert)
Film Portrait (1970, Jerome Hill)

Holdovers:

o.k. (1970, Michael Verhoeven)
Privilege (1990, Yvonne Rainer)

Did not make it:

Mali vojnici / Playing Soldiers (1967, Bahrudin 'Bato' Cengic) - Came close to holdover status, so will push it again next year
Lisboa (1930, José Leitão de Barros)
Buffet froid (1979, Bertrand Blier)
Jane B. par Agnès V. (1988, Agnès Varda)
Nassereddin Shah, Actor-e Cinema / Once Upon a Time, Cinema (1992, Mohsen Makhmalbaf)
Die Umschulung / The Re-Education (1994, Harun Farocki)
MURDER and murder (1996, Yvonne Rainer)

Not bad!

I don't get how Jane B. par Agnès V. is not more beloved though.

If anyone needs a nudge to see it, here's the trailer:
