Next film I plan to see
Re: Next film I plan to see
Hi guys, i'm having technical problems with posting to this forum. Posting in the Quick Reply fields at the bottom of a page is the only way i can post. I can't post in Full Editor & Preview mode anymore. And I can no longer edit my posts either, so I can't edit the test post above this one, for example.
^ It's the same for everyone, think a few people have figured out how to bypass that stuff but not me.

1/ whenever you wants to "edit" a post (pic a) or compose a new post while using "full editor" (pic b), you see (due to the bug) this ↓↓ (message box shrinks, no access to full editor options, not possible to post content in the shrink message box).
so, start with a "right-click" in the area of the shrink message box (viz red circles ↓↓ ).
2/ once you right-clicked (viz 1) you get the following menu ↓ and there you pick the last option (in Czech it is "Prozkoumat", in English something like "Investigate" or alike).
3/ once you picked (clicked) "Investigate" (viz 2), in the right half of your screen opens the coded version of your screen (or how to call it), viz ↓
if you right-clicked (viz 1) in the message box area, in the code is highlighted (by light blue color) "message-box" part of the code (detail viz 5).
if there is highlighted any other part of the code (because you right-clicked not exactly in the message box spot (viz 1) then right-click there once again (viz 1) and the proper part of the code gets highlighted.
4/ now, right-click in the highlighted (light blue) area of the code ("message-box" part) and you get a new menu with several options (pick the third option called "Edit as HTML" ↓ ).
5/ once you did the previous (viz 4), you are able to edit the code and all you have to do is splitting "textareaname" into "textarea name" (to write a missing "pause") at the beginning and at the end of the "message-box" part of the code (viz two red circles ↓↓ ).
once you did so, then just click in the empty area next to the code (viz red double circle ↓) and your edits will come into effect (your message box will no longer be shrink, it will expand to its normal size, and you get access to all the full editor options, etc.)
if you made some edits and want again preview your post, then by clicking on "preview" you again get back into the shrink mode of the message (viz 1) so all you have to do is to repeat the whole procedure (i.e. splitting both "textareaname" into "textare name") before you can post your message.
i hope this detailed over-explanation helps.
if not, tell me where you got stuck and i will make additional screenshots!
i am never tired of mansplaining!!
------------------------
and btw. if you want to start a "new topic", you can follow the same procedure.
because the only problem with starting a "new topic" is the first message of the "new topic" is shrink and you can't post a shrink message box.
so, once you fix the shrink message box (in the first post of your "new topic") then you can start a "new topic"!

oh you're watching movies again! only in the cinema and not at home? maybe the demon of film busted your lighting trying to replicate the embryonic cosiness of the great dark palaces....don't make him work harder....imagine how much more inviting your screen-facing seating would be lined with luna-hide....nrh wrote: ↑Fri Mar 25, 2022 11:18 pm so many years after baahubali: the conclusion, finally going to get to see rajamouli's rrr in theater tomorrow.
had gone to see 3 movies this month, the first since covid lockdown started - nagraj manjule's jhund, axelle ropert's petit solange, and aurelia george's secret name - and all were great, with the ropert being maybe Great. but this feels like a big deal. bringing the glory back to cinema the tagline!

in addition to jiri's excellent mansplaining i will add the same process applies for DMs and new topics (see above post).
(and the right-clicks looks so much more mysterious and exotic in czech!)
lol and now i have to edit this using the instructions above to note that jiri has edited his post using the same process to note the new topic same thing applies, if he keeps editing his i may have to keep editing mine referring to the above instructions into oblivion, using those same instructions...help!

The original version of La Banda Del Automovil Gris has been made available. Apparently there was a copy in an archive in Chile. That's the 1918 serial, not the 1925 feature edit or the 1932 feature edit with overdubbed dialogue or the 1952 version with new overdubbed dialogue. Twelve episodes, 3 h 43 m... Essential viewing for me, totally fits into my hypotheses about a current of Feuillade influence in Mexican film... Happy happy!

It's on youtube already. No subs, but I'm going to fix that, give me time. A year or two they should be ready.

I am planning to go to BFI London film festival this year (first time as an attendee, 1st time went as a volunteer). I definitely want to see Corsage and Saint Omer, then possibly Women Talking, Passengers of the night, The Blue Caftan, A room of my own, Fast + Feel Love, All that breathes and L'Originale du mal. I am leaving out movies that will be distributed by Netflix and MUBI just to limit myself with choices.
new pa. ranjith out this weekend, looks like it's playing somewhat widely in the us -

I wanted to see it here in London but strangely there seem to be no screenings for it, I probably have to wait until it gets to prime in a month or so's time
yeah it's weird, seems everywhere either has cobra (the 3 hour vikram epic thing) or natchathiram but not both. happy we got the pa. ranjith but kind of hoped to see both...
and natchathiram is on netflix now.

one of the biggest movies of the year - mani ratnam doing a big budget, two part adaptation of a beloved tamil serial novel
about court intrigue in the chola empire, although the trailers are definitely trying to sell the spectacle and action.

didn't expect this would get a nyc release, but glad it is and hoping to see it as well. this group of young kannada filmmakers has managed to make a very interesting space for themselves in an industry that often gets overlooked.
was hoping to see naane varuvean (the new selvaraghavan, with his brother dhanush playing dual roles) but it didn't make it to the city, guessing it just got pushed out for lack of screens.

I'm going to watch Symbiopsychotaxiplasm: Take One (1968) sometime this week. Has anybody else here seen it?

^ that one's been on my watchlist for a long time. it sounds really interesting.
tonight's my last chance to see Synecdoche NY at the local theater that's been doing a Phillip Seymour Hoffman retrospective. I absolutely loved this when I first saw it 10+ years ago, interested to see if it holds up.

in love before the credit sequence is over dammit wes anderson. i mean i just drove through here a few weeks ago going back soon!!
i love those old motor courts, there's still a few around. one in bisbee i've been to a couple of times, one in mancos, colorado... they're getting few and far between but i patronize them when i can ♥
there's even a casino he's mocking AZ's beloved meteor crater but i don't mind
all women are witches. i might be biased but this is the best wes i've seen in years
the dancing roadrunner earns it a heart ♥ nah i should wait til i watch it again. the structure was...interesting but a little distracting

booked tickets for jawan. pathaan was a disappointment to say the least but this is atlee instead of the mediocre sid anand and a passion project srk has been building towards for years. srk in at least 3 different roles, vijay sethupathi as the villain, lady superstar nayanthara as female lead, and wonderboy anirudh doing his first hindi soundtrack. hopes are running high for this one, to put it mildly...

does anyone remember 'wild palms' a miniseries from the early 90s -- i'm almost positive i saw some of this on cable at some point. anyways gonna revisit
very strange series in any number of ways - can't imagine anything more "of its time." had a friend in college who was totally obsessed with it, had the comic book collection and the "wild palms reader" book and everything (both are on the internet archive). i could never really make heads or tails of the whole thing...
sadly hearing that tiger 3 is kind of a mess, seems not even maneesh sharma can fix some of the issues with yash raj's "spy universe." and everyone i know whose seen jigarthanda double x says it is one of the best movies of the years, but it is bizarrely only playing here in the telugu dubbed version...
love how oliver stone had a cameo being interviewed bc it turned out he was right about jfk released in 1993 but set in 2007. it is a very weird experience
i'm about halfway through it and angie dickinson is pretty damn scary slots neatly between twin peaks and the x files (but not as good as either tho it does hint at our current situation!)

won't be the very next movie i see - it doesn't release until the end of the week - but sure to be one of the more interesting releases of the year -ljp is coming off the best movie of his career, and is one of the rare directors who go fairly far into arty/experimental territory and still keep popular audience interest, and mohanlal is both one of the biggest stars and best living actors in indian movies and needs to prove himself again after more than a decade of bad movies (and bad botex); there have been big hits but he really needs to prove himself creatively, especially after his friend and rival of decades mammootty is having an incredible late career resurgence. and a rare movie from the industry that is getting a big us release.
