Where oh where did you find this? Everything I've read about it says it's a masterpiece (and Antoine's last film)

and yet there's so many remakes of it.

I really liked The Valley of Silent Men. Shot on location in Alberta's national park with Hearst's money. Unfortunately, only five of seven reels survive, but what remains is pure Borzage. I took so many screenshots, it looks amazing:

there's a good youtube channel of silent and early sound comedy here maybe i'll find something to watch

nightlife in hollywood w/wallace reid. he'd be dead of a morphine addiction in a few months

that led me to sessue hayakawa in his birthright but it's 1918 :P both missing multiple reels

he comes to america to find his birth dad and get revenge but they end up having a good relationship

Having logged some 483 of the 1292 listed as 'releases'

The breakdown looks like this:
Full length features 245
Live Action Shorts 65
Docs 22
Animated shorts 56
Ads 4

LOST films 51

Among the lost items are

2 by John Ford, 2 by Sam Wood and others by the likes of Frank Borzage, Walter deMille, Alfred Green, Henry King, Robert Leonard, Frank Lloyd, Charles Taylor and Wallace Worsley

Additionally, there's some 17 countries represented outside of U.S. productions.
Plus a litany of 'firsts' (female directors and writers, films in color, sound and 3D) which I never would have guessed had occurred this early on.

edit-There's also an additional feature that was considered lost but was found in the Netherlands called 'For The Defense' by Paul Powell.
Only I've yet to see any where abouts of any footage just yet.

The strangest item that I've discovered thus far would have to be 'Trapped by the Mormons' by Harry B. Parkinson
It's described as being a propaganda piece as it has an anti-Mormon theme which seems to be defined as an actual genre!?!

Also, Gloria Swanson was 4'11
