Letterboxd Stats showdown: Buster Keaton/Charlie Chaplin
Re: Letterboxd Stats showdown: Buster Keaton/Charlie Chaplin
Every Keaton movie that received a 2.5 star rating (or less):
Champs sorted by number of Keaton movies logged:
Champs sorted by average rating of Keaton movies:
Highest rated Keaton movie for each champ (in case of a tie, I only list one):
Lowest rated Keaton movie for each champ (in case of a tie, I only list one):
All ratings for Keaton movies from all champs:
Combined top 10 from the 2 directors (minimum 2 ratings per movie)
Combined bottom 10 from the 2 directors (minimum 2 ratings per movie)
Showdown results. Each champ gets one vote.
Final score: Chaplin: 5. Keaton: 25
wow, i have the lowest average rating for keaton. i guess it's all those fatty arbuckle movies i watched.

So...It comes down to Flip and Brian. Flip was the closest to the final score (keaton +9), followed by Brian (+8). However Brian guessed sherlock jr. as the highest-rated Keaton, whereas Flip wagered on our hospitality.
Based on my complicated formula, I declare Brian the winner of this match-up.

Brian, congratulations on winning this showdown (and on having the lowest average rating for keaton).

Awesome, go Buster! Thanks as always kanafani, these are always super insightful. For those that liked Film, Alan Schneider also directed a Beckett script in a filmed play made for TV version of Waiting for Godot, which I can't recommend highly enough. No Buster, but alas...
let's go agnès varda/chantal akerman. seems like they made right around the same number of films, and would probably be competitive.

Ah...
I'm not a big fan of ratings... but I love these. I feel like I've seen a lot of Keaton, and still end up pretty middling in terms of logged films.
I'll probably go temporarily rate Ackerman/Varda for the sake of the next one. Just to try something different.
