i'm not a free speech absolutist, so i personally have absolutely no problem with this idea in the abstract but no clue how to manage it in real terms. as a fellow anarchist (with rischka, hi rischka) it seems like this should be decided collaboratively and on a case by case basis. the rest of the community should probably also jump in and share thoughts on this, as i recall some people not being happy with voices being removed from threads, or maybe just with threads being closed.

i agree with rischka. it's funny, i first got into film as a 12 year old kid posting on this forum called golden silents. it was great, except for when certain people would derail threads with bizarre political rants, religious proselytizing, racist comments etc. it eventually ruined the board for film discussion. i don't think hot topics like politics should be off limits at all, but when it devolves into personal attacks and ranting...mess!

Just make a Top 100 or - even better - a Top 1000. 10 films are way too few to speak about anything.
