SCFZ poll: Robert De Niro

Post by MrCarmady »

The rules:

- I'll assume ballots are ranked unless you tell me otherwise. Unranked ballots are fine.

- Deadline for ballots: Friday the 12th of May

We'll use the extended rules for this poll:

• If you have seen an odd number of De Niro films, you can round up instead of down when determining the length of your ballot (e.g. if you have seen 7, you can list 4 films instead of the usual 3)

• If you have seen more than 10 De Niro films, your ballot can extend beyond 5 films (e.g. if you have seen 13, you can list up to 7)
However, the max number allowed in total is 10 even if you've seen 21+.

Engagement with these polls seems to be falling steadily :(
I'll update and close the open ones this month but not sure it's worth continuing with ballots in the single digits.

Seen: 20+
Once Upon a Time in America
Taxi Driver
Greetings
Brazil
Mean Streets
The Godfather Part II
The King of Comedy
The Intern
Heat
Raging Bull

Could definitely use a few re-watches and wanna see Hi, Mom!, 1900, Midnight Run, Cape Fear, etc.

De Niro's performance in Brazil is great. However, I hesitated to vote for it, since his role is rather small.

i'll post a ballot in this poll some time, just found it hard because i haven't seen some of the classic de niro movies in many years.

when i was doing the director polls, sometimes there wasn't much participation, but one advantage of that is it makes it very fast to tabulate the poll. i like these actor polls so i hope they'll continue

i've seen 20, but i'm definitely not a big fan, and really hate a lot of the movies he's been in. so yeah, this isn't easy...

I could post a ballot but I just don't feel that strongly about him or his films, plus long time seeing many of them

Yeah, I'm just grumbling, people will engage with whatever strikes their fancy plus the forum just feels generally quieter these days. Part of the problem I think is the selection process, should we revert back to the old school one where the first person to post a ballot gets to pick an actor for the next round?
