July, 2022

Features my first 10/10 in a very, very, very long time. I think I've not given a 10 to more than a dozen films in my life. This 10 goes to Euphoria (S2, 2022), which I watched half of in June and awarded that 7.5 points out of 10. The second half (four episodes) I saw in July brought the whole thing up to 10. The whole better than the sum of its parts. Really such a wonderfully written and brilliantly acted thing. I thoroughly recommend it.

Don't normally do this, but I want to remember my month of hotel viewing since it sure was something. (Actually covers the end of July and beginning of September too, but I'm going with it since I won't likely remember to make a new list next month.)

The highpoint was a suggestion by Jerry, the last movie I watched online and the only one really worthy of suggesting as something to view.
Accused of Murder 1956 Josphen Kane

The sorry lot that followed:
Godzilla vs Kong
Free Guy
Suicide Squad
Old
Geostorm
Hotel Transylvania 3
Despicable Me 3
Leap Year
Star Wars (the first one, new hope or whatever its called now)
Boonie Bears: The Big Shrink
Anaconda 3: The Offering
Dracula Untold
Tenet
West Side Story (Spielberg's)
Beerfest
Central Intelligence
The Art of Racing in the Rain
The Batman
Ford v Ferrari
First Man
10 Things I Hate About You
Hulk (the Edward Norton one)
The Emoji Movie
Thor: Ragnarok
Despicable Me 2
The Shape of Water
The Girl on the Train
Superfly (2018)
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald
The Spirit
Charlie's Angels (2019)
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker
Star Wars: The one before the Rise of Skywalker
The Rocker
Blended
Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters
Barely Lethal
Ride Along
Temptation Under the Sun
In Bed with a Killer
Peppermint
Hotel Transylvania 2
Change Up
Click
Battleship
Bodyguard Seduction
Power of the Air
Silly Human
Tempted by Danger
Bad Boys II
Iron Man 2
Captain America: Winter Soldier
Avengers: Infinity War
Death on the Nile
2 Guns
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

and parts of a bunch more I've already seen or couldn't finish that aren't worth noting. Jesus, cable plays a fuckton of Marvel movies, Adam Sandler flicks and Harry Potter stuff so I started drifting to Lifetime movies instead.)

Why ON EARTH did you watch all these??????????
And where are the lifetime movies on the list?
And why SO MANY?? In, like, 5 or 6 weeks?

You couldn't have been forced to do this?
Or was this some kind of payed experiment?

Living in a hotel with internet that isn't great for streaming leaves only cable for watching things. The array of shows are even worse, so I pick whatever movie I find most interesting. Interesting not meaning good, just that has something worth considering about Hollywood or the niche productions like Lifetime or the religious channel stuff. Not all of them were bad exactly, a couple were fine a couple more close to it, just nothing exceptionally exciting. But I did learn some things, so you take what you can get.

November, 2022

Not much seen this month, but I've been watching a few series as well, including The Last Dance, about the Chicago Bulls and Michael Jordan in the 1990s. Wow, some amazing playing and riveting stories about the players and head to heads with other teams. Detroit Pistons were so violent!

Also been watching a weird Godard multi-part doco, France tour détour deux enfants (1977), where he interviews two kids aged about 9 years old and asks them all kinds of existential questions. A bit pretentious sometimes, so I don't know if I'll watch the whole 15 eps or whatever it is.

Also Andor, the latest Star Wars thing. :icon_rolleyes: A bit dull so far, hope it picks up.
