rewatches: clueless, rebecca, the TAMI show, vertigo

edit: should say something about ragbar/downpour as there's not a 1972 thread yet. it's credited as the film that launched the iranian new wave; a romantic comedy with an edge. the film obliquely but effectively addresses the patriarchy as a tragic system and introduces a meta element that later film makers became famous for - no surprise it was banned and believed to have been destroyed by the revolutionary government. it was beizai's first feature and he had the only surviving print which was restored through world cinema foundation. btw beizai is still around at 83 - he lives in california.
