This is by far the best iihf tournament ever. For those not following, the teams that have won every game so far are Switzerland, Germany, Latvia, Kazakhstan and Slovakia

The teams without a win are Britain, Italy........ Canada and Sweden????

Canada has being outscored 10-2 after three games????

Boston Tampa Colorado

I will WAIT AND SEE on this last division. IF Montreal beats Toronto then I will employ a prediction of WINTERPEG. But then also HOWEVER, if Toronto prevails, I dunno yet.

I went to a sports bar for a movie quiz night and spotted a Bure jersey. Just not sure of which Bure - Pavel or Valeri.

Maybe our own Curtis aka Bure will know.

That's Pavel. Valeri never played for the Rangers, and I believe that's a Rangers jersey; also never wore number 9.

How'd you do on the movie quiz?

Thanks for clearing that up, Evelyn!

As for movie quiz, after 5 rounds (50 questions) my team was tied for the 1st place out of 16 teams, so we played three extra questions and, sadly, we lost. But 2nd place is still very good. Movie quiz nights were on hold for almost two years now, so it was great to be back and have film-related fun.

So random, gf and I went to bar trivia yesterday! It was in a hostel bar here in Van so it was lots of questions about Ireland and Australia unfortunately, and no hockey!

But yeah, that's interesting, Pavel only played 51 games for NYR near the end of his career (before retiring due to too many knee injuries) but he was insanely prolific: 31 goals in those 51 games, including 12 in 12 in the first year he was traded there. Bure's statlines are generally just insane: https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdi ... hp?pid=662

In 1994 he led the league in goals in both regular season and playoffs, one of only 3 players to do that since the league expanded from 6 teams in 1967 (Esposito 1970, Ovechkin 2018), but the only one of those 3 who didn't win the Stanley Cup (and playoff MVP) in that yr )):

2009 poll watchlist:

my second (besides DRONEMAN, Petr Zelenka, 2020 — viz another thread) lately seen cinematic "tribute" to Dick.

DICK CHENEY IN A COLD, DARK CELL (Jim Finn, 2009)
River ice sets the scene for Judy Garland's international cri de coeur. It's hard to understate the amount of anxiety created by a vice president who usurped authority for eight years to start wars and wreck the economy and then sidled off to Wyoming to be a a retired Hero of the Right. Impunity is not just the stuff of autocratic dictatorships in the third world. The American form of impunity is going to get us all killed.
