I watched an entire documentary about the nature of Australia last week that feature these Cockatoos drumming with small branches. It's called Magical Land of Oz.

btw. in the recent past i watched an anthology (tetralogy) of Bohemian experimental films called in sum KINDLING (2019).
1/ SVÍDNA (Martin Klusák)
2/ THE RHYTHM OF MY CITY (Jan Rybář)
3/ THE LAND OF THE RAVEN FROM THE ARK (Květa Přibylová)
4/ HABITAT (Marek Matvija)

Third part, THE LAND OF THE RAVEN FROM THE ARK, is about bunch of ravens who made nests near a cemetery.
The whole film is about a bunch of locals (humans) who complain (even swear) at ravens because they shamelessly shit on the graves of their ancestors.
So, i expect the moment will come in this LIVE streaming when angry locals (humans) will start throwing (from below) their shoes (or similar items) at ravens.

speaking about animal feces...
when i attended in 2018 Jihlava IDFF, i watched there Lithuanian doc called ACID FOREST aka RŪGŠTUS MIŠKAS (Rugilė Barzdžiukaitė, 2018).
seems like, cormorants are the real grand scale shit spreaders (not ravens, or pigeons).
https://letterboxd.com/film/acid-forest/
Can you imagine a tourist attraction where people come to see a dead forest? Where they are not only observers, but also the ones being observed and heard by the black birds? There used to be an ancient pine forest, but then several cormorants landed there. Now there are thousands of the birds and they kill the pine trees by…shitting. The human observations and responses to this environment are as multi-layered and bizarre as the history of the forest itself.

and to make this entreé into the world of "cinema & bird's poo" complete...
there is also a short film called PIGEONS AND ARCHITECTURE (Anne Linke, 2019).
but it is (unfortunately) far less interesting than THE LAND OF THE RAVEN FROM THE ARK or ACID FOREST.

And with an almost gloatingly smiling feeling, we suddenly perhaps rejoice at the way they have covered all the cold-repellent, barred, mute abstraction of these places with layers of their feces in such a way that Jackson Pollock's Drip Paintings involuntarily come to mind.

btw. ravens (somehow) figured out that if they will move in the area where the date & time counter is placed on the screen they are able to turn the color of the numbers from black to white and vice versa.
so, now they are entertaining themselves (and the audience) with this interactive black & white game!
maybe they are sending some cryptic (coded) message??? ...-15-8005-11801-...

additional note to ravens above.
only now, i read the description of past days.
it says, yesterday the first egg was laid.
(fortunately, the forenoon snow already melted.)
and it says, till hatching the egg it takes about 18 days.
so, around April 3rd (if i count right) we can expect to see one more little lovely shitspreader.

Joggers in Pilsen attacked by a buzzard. Quietly and without warning

Problems with attacking birds are reported by people in Pilsen. After a swan terrorizing canoeists on Radbuza river, another local phantom reports a return to the scene: a buzzard. For a change, he has a fondness for joggers at the outskirts of the city.

"A medium-sized predator attacks from behind, in a quiet flight and without warning. Then the claws most often bounce off the runner's head," described the raid Karel Makoň from the Pilsen animal rescue station.

"If you run without a cap and with headphones on, I think you'll make a somersault in the run. Interestingly, not everyone is attacked, he only chooses people of a certain type. It doesn't make a difference between a man or a woman, but all the attacked most likely have something in common," said Makoň.

Friendly teasing?

Like the aforementioned swan, the attacking buzzard is not something completely new, these birds began attacking people in the locality as early as 2018.

"We discussed this case with biologists, falconers, and fellow ornithologists, and we all came to the conclusion that it is a bird bred in captivity. He is fixed on humans and during the mating season, he tries to establish a partnership with them. At the same time, however, it may also be a matter of protecting the territory and expelling the intruder, in which case the bird mistakenly identifies himself as a human, or identifies a human as buzzard,” Makoň explained.

"Whatever is the reason behind the attacks, it is by no means a wild bird and his behavior is a consequence of the fact that he has been piped by a man on whom the buzzard became fixed from a young age," he added.

The bird does not harras the passers-by all the time, it only teases them during his period of courtship, mating, and nesting. "In sunny warm weather, attacks are more frequent, in bad weather, they do not repeat so often. We expect all of this to be over in two months. Just like last year and the year before," said Makoň.

It advises runners to wear a head covering, change the route or speed up significantly in the incriminated section. And to armor oneself with tolerance.

Hormone fuelled riots

The swan, who returned to the Radbuza river after two years of exile, is again chasing poor paddlers. On Thursday, for example, he attacked a young single-canoeist three times in a row.

"It almost looks like an animal riot, but in reality, it's just a game of hormones with the nesting season approaching," Makoň remarked. "In both cases, this is exceptional, completely non-standard behavior, most likely of the male birds," he added.
