Good call, I put it in Stop the Lists, as Film Discussion just didn't seem quite right, and StL subforum is much less crowded. Also that makes that forum members-only, which is a bonus

Who wants to be ""owner"" of the board? It entails not much, you have to give the hosting company a cc that will be charged annually (people here will chip in), and periodically fielding an email.

Owner is a bit of a misnomer, as I'm fairly certain legally this website is owned communally, and whoever is listed as the owner is more of a trust holder

I'm logging off for good in a couple days so if someone doesn't step up the forum will end up expiring in December

I'm thinking about it. Going to sleep now though, so if someone grabs it in the meantime that's fine.

i'll take the keys if you are heart set on leaving but

1- i don't know anything about websites and maybe someone who knows something about websites should do it
2 - leaving is dumb and i this is in no way supporting your choice to do so

ok, i might not leave, but i do not think it's appropriate for me to continue being the main admin here

thank you guys for being nice. i feel like a real prick

when i started moving radically to the left in 2017, a ~friend (yes, thoxans, i'm talking about andrew) said that one day all the offensive shit i'd said, said specifically to offend and hurt, would come back and bite me in the ass... he was never right about much, but i guess he was right about that

POSTING THIS ALSO HERE SO ANYONE CAN FIND IT EASILY...

"Full Editor & Preview" fixture

1/ whenever you wants to "edit" a post (pic a) or compose a new post while using "full editor" (pic b), you see (due to the bug) this ↓↓ (message box shrinks, no access to full editor options, not possible to post content in the shrink message box).
so, start with a "right-click" in the area of the shrink message box (viz red circles ↓↓ ).
Image

2/ once you right-clicked (viz 1) you get the following menu ↓ and there you pick the last option (in Czech it is "Prozkoumat", in English something like "Investigate" or alike).
Image

3/ once you picked (clicked) "Investigate" (viz 2), in the right half of your screen opens the coded version of your screen (or how to call it), viz ↓
if you right-clicked (viz 1) in the message box area, in the code is highlighted (by light blue color) "message-box" part of the code (detail viz 5).
if there is highlighted any other part of the code (because you right-clicked not exactly in the message box spot (viz 1) then right-click there once again (viz 1) and the proper part of the code gets highlighted.
Image

4/ now, right-click in the highlighted (light blue) area of the code ("message-box" part) and you get a new menu with several options (pick the third option called "Edit as HTML" ↓ ).
Image

5/ once you did the previous (viz 4), you are able to edit the code and all you have to do is splitting "textareaname" into "textarea name" (to write a missing "pause") at the beginning and at the end of the "message-box" part of the code (viz two red circles ↓↓ ).
once you did so, then just click in the empty area next to the code (viz red double circle ↓) and your edits will come into effect (your message box will no longer be shrink, it will expand to its normal size, and you get access to all the full editor options, etc.)
if you made some edits and want again preview your post, then by clicking on "preview" you again get back into the shrink mode of the message (viz 1) so all you have to do is to repeat the whole procedure (i.e. splitting both "textareaname" into "textare name") before you can post your message.
Image

i hope this detailed over-explanation helps.
if not, tell me where you got stuck and i will make additional screenshots!
i am never tired of mansplaining!!

------------------------
and btw. if you want to start a "new topic", you can follow the same procedure.
because the only problem with starting a "new topic" is the first message of the "new topic" is shrink and you can't post a shrink message box.
so, once you fix the shrink message box (in the first post of your "new topic") then you can start a "new topic"!

Piggy-backing off of Jiri's post... I explained another option in a different thread that will automatically do the manual process Jiri explained.

https://scfzforum.org/phpBB3/viewtopic. ... 594#p37594

Feel free to reply to this if you find insufficient explanation in there, or have some issue (since I assume your DMs are dead as well).

In the long-term I expect that we should be able to fix this issue, but there are some formalities left before we have the pristine site backup we're looking for, which we need to avoid a scramble drill if a patch goes awry.

I made a change to the site. DMs, Full Editor, Post editing, New Topic, Drafts, and Edit Signature should be usable now (among other things maybe).

If someone still is having trouble doing the aforementioned things let me know.

thanks Therouxxx!

can now (if it's possible???) anyone (Lencho??? flip???) create in "Regional Cinemas" a folder/archive called "CoMo Archive" and move there (time to time) all the past CoMo threads?
i would be very grateful if all these threads would be aggregated (chronologically listed) in one folder.

I used to move all the year polls into their subfolder, but I remember now that it was Curtis that created the subfolder in the first place, and I don't think anyone else has that capability. Maybe Flip, Brian D or Therouxxx could. So I can't do what you're asking,, or what I offered to Evelyn, BUT I could move all the CoMo threads to Country Polls, which is currently empty. Might even be able to change the name of that folder, I'll check that after I post this message.

Likewise, if Evelyn wants, I can move the 2.0 threads into the 1.0 folder, where they would self-segregate because the header is distinct from the old ones. Would that be worthwhile as a temporary half-measure?

Assuming no-one steps up with the ability to create new folders, that is.

EDIT: No, not able to change the name of the folder.

oh, thanks for the response!
but CoMo is not really a poll.
i think the right place for the folder is "Regional Cinemas".
it can wait.

I added this subforum:
Could you also, then, create a subfolder in Polls, Etc for Evelyn's polls? Thanks. I assume I'm still able to move threads from one folder to another, so I'll take care of that for her and for Astroflash.
