What are you listening to?
Re: What are you listening to?
Yeah that was a bummer but I think they're both trolls enjoying the negative attention as much as anything.
While we're on the topic of talented Swedes, this record kicks ass

I've listened to Ariel Pink's cover of Baby a lot through the years without knowing anything about the man. Read up about him after the news and yikes,

I HAD TOO MUCH TO DREAM LAST NIGHT
Too much to dream
I'm not ready to face the light
I had too much to dream
Last night
SYNTHESIZE ME HYPNOTIZE ME HUMANIZE ME ENERGIZE ME
I've seen the rings of Saturn
And the craters on the Moon
Oceans of Venus in the middle of June
Mirrors of Mercury and Mars' electric skies
Pearls of Neptune in Jupiter's eyes
I heard the old man who plays the lake
Amazing things will make you want to shake
A strange planet a zillion lightyears away
Through a black hole across the milky way
DON'T PATRONIZE ME DON'T GLAMORIZE ME DON'T PARALYZE ME YOU CAN'T SURPRISE ME

Ever since Om Dar-B-Dar, I've had this song stuck in my head. Sorry.

The opposite of 'reify' is... ?
I’m watching the Super Bowl, so I’ve had to listen to America the beautiful, the anthem, and now the half time show. But I’ve never heard of any of the many performers on display. Did they not manage to book any famous artists this year? Or am I that out of touch with music?
I know Billy Ray’s daughter. Was she on? Did I miss her?
No idea who the weekend are... the guy looks a little like Lenny Kravitz
the weeknd is one guy. also he's canadian (i did not know this!) but i think he was bigger around 10 years ago then now. which sounds abt right for the stupid bowl
It’s just one guy, and he’s called the weeknd? With a missing ‘e’, so you guys are not misspelling it? And he’s been big for 10 years? I feel old. I guess arthritis is next for me.
"Miley Cyrus, Billy Idol have a 'White Wedding' during star-studded TikTok Tailgate before Super Bowl"
Apparently... (I didn't see that either; I just looked up the list of performers now)
I couldn't name a single other song by Weeknd, but Starboy was the biggest massive inexplicably ubiquitous song of 2016. (I think?) I dunno. It's the superbowl. They sell ad space, some lame music plays, and then there are 5000 whistles and stoppages in the unwatchable last 10 minutes of play. I think the idea is to be so drunk by this point that you don't notice any of it is boring?
FOOTBALL!!! (I actually like football, just not the nfl and especially not the superbowl...)
I first heard about The Weeknd when he worked with Daft Punk and Lana Del Rey. I am not familiar with any other songs he has.
prince did the only good half time show

The prince purple rain number, with actual rain falling, must be the highlight of all halftime shows ever. Michael Jackson had a good one many years ago too.

he's already a meme

didn't he set his hair on fire or something?Michael Jackson had a good one many years ago too.

it has been really wonderful to see the full reclamation of the kevin rowland my beauty album.
such a wonderful album! when i was getting more and more into some aspects of creation records (the times, swervedriver, the telescopes, etc) back in the day, naturally i came across it - .....as "the worst album cover ever", "the biggest mistake creation made", all that nonsense. had to listen to it, and i was blown away right from the start.
just saw it has a new re-release, and it's getting (positive) attention again. and not a darn second too soon!
