Welcome!

Welcome gus! A fine choice in names. Said as one who goes by gusottertrout over on letterboxd myself.
Hi everyone, I stumbled upon this board on ICM, and I miss the golden age of forums so thought I'd join. I used to post on The Life Cinematic (RIP) as InHuman, I have a feeling there's some small overlap between the userbases? Anyway, I don't watch movies as diligently as I used to, but still nice to have a place to discuss stuff, Film Twitter and Letterboxd can't scratch that itch fully.

Welcome! I used to live in London...
Thanks! I love London, hopefully it treated you well when you were here...
Good question! I feel like the moment more people started browsing the Internet at home on their phones than laptops. So, I don't know, 2014? Bit later?
you won't. also, might wanna change your boxd bio. other than that, welcome!
p.s. i'm the lovable smartass in our little boy (and girl) band scenario we got here

Good to meet you too thoxans.

As the quarantine continues, I found myself on the Internet Archive, reminiscing the mubi days. Doesn't go back to when it was The Auteurs, but surprisingly still a lot worth remembering, somewhat intact. Ruby, Cedric, Flip, Jerry, Cani, Sally, Falderal, etc, the profiles the way they were are all there, together with some lists and forum posts. Really grateful for the insights they and others provided there. Letterboxd doesn't compare.
Anyway, this prompted me to create a profile here (under a different name). I won't be very active though, I never was.
Does anyone know if Falderal/Wu Yong is active anywhere?

nice to see you too. falderal disappeared shortly after we migrated to letterboxd. haven't heard from/of him since
That's a shame, really. But I guess letterboxd just didn't make sense to him, given that discussion is impossible. Hope he's okay.

holy shit. really misread that username until lota said lineup. def read it as lin-ewe-fear, like a sphere, but linear, and new
as a sidenote that won't matter to anyone: also think b. traven was the penname for someone who thought about what the opposite of a seagull would be, and came up with a beach raven
but that's just me...

A couple weeks ago I dreamed the word "schizopherical" (or the spanish equivalent, actually...) and I'd love to find a meaning for it.thoxans post wrote: linear but spherical and new

Hey everyone! Just joined this site -- I follow several of you on Letterboxd and tend to learn a lot from your reviews and lists so I thought I'd sign up here.
Good to have you join us Harry. Hope you'll like it here and join in to the conversations whenever it strikes your fancy.

Hi everyones. I was briefly around a couple of years (?) ago, but got sidetracked with life stuff. Work, studies and all that. I finally got things kind of managed (at least unitl my wife gives birth in a couple of months) and I've really missed the discussions and recommendations, so I'm back.
Really looking forward to watching movies, doing lists, talking books and all that!!
