Re: 2015 poll

Very! I love Lois Patiño his work. Didn't get to his feature from last year yet, but his shorts 'Night Without Distance', 'Fajr' and 'Mountain in Shadow' are all amazing.

Finally came to watching The Two of Us last night; I liked it a lot! Would've chosen for Chain, but well, doesn't matter anyway. Thanks managers, great line-up in this match <3

Divisive movies: A champ rated this movie 5 stars in 2020, but some other champ rated it 0.5 stars previously: The Green Ray (Éric Rohmer, 1986): Mauries gave it 5 stars, Flabrezu gave it 0.5 stars I've never been in a real fight, but I would be willing to schedule a fist fight to defend Delphine i...

European btw. somehow i think you are from the Netherlands, but i am not sure if this notion is completely delusional or not? In "Short Joy" there was a cool film about quarry near Maastricht called SOLASTALGIA... https://www.ji-hlava.com/filmy/solastalgie I'm indeed Dutch. Thanks for the...

Best books I read in the last year(s) are both from Polish writers: -Pornography by Witold Gombrowicz -Primeval And Other Times by Olga Tokarczuk (she won the Nobel prize last year) I'm recommending Gombrowicz to all my friends recently - his writing is exceptional. His diary is also very interesting.

The story of the music and the story of the image are both so great and heartbreaking. Them combined, as one piece on decay, is one of my favorite works of art of all time. I don't really listen to it to fall asleep though, it mostly just makes me sad :). Triggering that feeling that everything is j...

Thanks Evelyn! it was made as a performance piece, with the soundtrack performed live by Mack at any and all screenings, touring together with the film. For me at least, that's an essential part of the work of art, as the form reflects the content, about her parents' business supplying posters for a...

Earlier this year I watched Dusty Stacks of Mom with 2 film friends that both love experimental films. After 15 minutes one of my friends said: this is embarrassing right? And we felt a relief because we all found it unwatchable and cringy. I picked the film because of all the appreciation it gets h...

My categorised watchlist

Every watchlist I have is always growing so big that I forget why I put certain films on there. Here I want to make a watchlist and describe the context of each film on it somehow. For example: ‘From the 1972 year poll’ or ‘By stalking Bure’s five star ratings’ or ‘researching technicolour adventure...
