Re: SCFZ poll: Michael Mann
Alright, I've seen 10 now.
1. Miami Vice (2006)
2. Ali (2001)
3. Collateral (2004)
4. The Last of the Mohicans (1992)
5. Blackhat (2015)
It honestly pains me not to put Thief on the list - goes to show how consistently amazing he is.

Seen 6:
1. Miami Vice
2. Collateral
3. Blackhat
Maybe I'll watch more of his work in the coming days, love everything I've seen.
Edit: Don't know if I made it clear enough but I was requesting an extension.

Scarlet Diva (2000, dir. Asia Argento)
Interesting as an anecdote on abuse in the film industry, but it's so intrinsically tied to Asia's personal life that it's hard to separate the film from the accusations against her.

The Mothman Prophecies (2002, dir. Mark Pellington) Was surprised by how much I enjoyed this. Cryptozoology is a passive interest of mine so hearing this be cited as one of the best films to explore the subject piqued my interest. Our very own Lencho has a great review of it on LB: https://letterbo...

Shanghai Express (Josef von Sternberg, 1932)
Been going through the Dietrich/von Sternberg box set from Criterion - this one is my favorite so far. Dietrich's performance is wonderful and I'm honestly somewhat overwhelmed.
