Re: Last Watched
Nirbachana (1994) by Biplab Roy Chowdhury. (first Oriya-language film!) I left a lil review for this film on letterboxd, I'm not the greatest at writing but maybe it'll pique your interest. :D https://letterboxd.com/leom1/film/nirbachana/ But man, in addition to how haunting this film's message is,...

Re: Last Watched
Hi all, it's been a while since I posted last. A few days ago I watched Ya tebya pomnyu AKA I Remember You from 1985 directed by Ali Khamraev, it having only 100 views on letterboxd at the time of writing is pretty unbelievable. I watched his Man Follows Birds many months ago and so came in with pre...

Re: CoMo No. 32: France (February, 2025)
Haven't really delved into French cinema all that much (bit contrarian, I know). I'm thinking of starting out with some of Vecchiali's selections, and there's quite a few interesting-looking lists on letterboxd for classic French cinema. I got a handful of Vecchiali's 4-heart films for this year's K...

Triangle / Եռանկյունի dir. Henrik Malyan https://ptpimg.me/lr8xz4.png started off strong! https://ptpimg.me/6ux263.png unfortunately tapered off a bit for me towards the end. I won't knock it for anyone else, 'cause it undoubtedly has a lot going for it, but maybe it just wasn't for me. https://ptp...

here's my watchlist (so far) for this year—as always, I don't plan on watching all of these films, but I'll pick and choose whatever I'm in the mood for. :cat: I haven't checked if all of these have subs, or if their IMDb pages state they were all made in 1967. :cowboy: letterboxd link with the list...

haven't watched too many from this year yet, still too busy to watch films atm but might try and squeak in some watches during the month. :) might even do one tonight. I'll also put together a list of films which I'll pick from when wanting to watch something (I've never come close to finishing one ...

Re: 1938 Poll 2.0
I have not seen basically anything from this year, I usually dig through years in which film industries from around the world have already flourished and when there's lots to pick from, instead of having to dig through a few prominent countries or regions. After doing some digging I did eventually c...

i think i prefer watching that kind of film on my own, even if that means watching a digital transfer, though i know that's sacrilege to some people. :) I can definitely relate to this, I've had quite a few film experiences where I ended up having a much better time watching it by myself afterwards...

GO dir. Isao Yukisada Sadly didn't take screenshots for this one, but I really liked it. I don't think I've seen a movie that deals with the issue of Korean discrimination in Japan before. Behind its apparent light-hearted tone lies a tragic portrayal of racism, with a touch of sensible coming-of-a...

references to last week might feel more jarring than references to past generations, recollecting the key moments of youth might blend perfectly into recollecting the key moments of yesterday Yeah!
