they weren't part of the year poll series, but we have done end-of-year polls every year since 2015 (that poll is here, i could find links to the later ones). we also did a poll of the best films of the 21st century, and, using an unusual method that produced some surprising results a best films of the 2010s poll. it'd be possible to extract scfz 'best of' lists for recent years from those polls.

i'm not saying these polls are a substitute for the year polls (it would be interesting to see how scfz views 2015 now, now that more films from that year are available for viewing), just pointing out that this decade isn't as unpolled as the list above might suggest.

Thanks Evelyn. Are you sure? I can't find 2011 and I can't remember taking part in it.

Cheers, ofrene. The reason I didn't see 2011 is because it wasn't put in the archives with all the others.

I'm pretty sure I just slotted both 2011 and 1942 in the correct order in which they were polled.

Here's another SCFZ list on letterboxd:

I say whenever we start over with the year polls in about a year's time, we do them in the same order we did them before, as that means we'll start with the oldest, most outdated poll.

i.e.,

We start by polling 1986 again,

then

1934
1954
2007
1929
1937
2009
1993
1962
1921
1984
1955
1995
1943
1975

etc...

I don't think the order has to be identical, though I agree that it would be less productive to redo the later polls from round one during the earliest phases of the round two game. Bear in mind that the whole process takes ten years to complete; at some time the degree of outdatedness becomes a moot point.

In any case, we have about 18 months to go before we finish round one; I don't see much need to start discuss methodology until 2-3 months before the end. There will be plenty of time to plan changes to the process, etc.

Sounds good and logical.

Hey this is just a thought bubble, but how about excluding all years that were produced less than 10 or 11 years ago (at the time of writing)? That would help us start round 2 sooner.

What's the hurry?

For the sake of consistency, seems to me that if we've done 2011 2012 and 2013, we might as well complete the series.

Might be an error or two in my update today, but we've finished the 1940s now, unless I'm mistaken.

Thanks man! And that's another Year Poll that hasn't been put in the archives, which is also why I forgot about it.

We might see a few decades completed this year with the next 10 or so polls. Quite a few decades have only one or two years left to do.

We've finished all the 1970s.

if you're counting 2004 as complete (the poll is open now), you can probably also cross 1905 off the list, since that's also open right now

Only four (yes, 4!) pre-2010s film years are left to poll for scfz!

With the current 1963 poll, we'll have completely finished polling the 1960s decade.

The final five pre-2010 decade films we have left to poll are

1901, 1904, 1913 and 1988.

Might be interesting to try a different scoring format and see what changes, what stays the same
