Yokohama BJ Blues was lovely, a very strange and atmospheric experience that will definitely linger with me. Much of the plot eluded me, but there were many striking moments (the joyful montage with Akira in the middle, the unsuccessful sex scene where the screen is intermittently filled with the blinding light from the background...).
Kaiser tells a fascinating story and I love learning about swindlers like Kaiser, but for the most part the filmmaking seemed calculated to annoy me - a lot of tics, including the use of women as props, that I can't stand.
