got a lot more out of the solomon from this round. shocks of color, recurring shots like haunted memories. strangely moving.

i was writing a fairly long post about the use of sound in the two solomon films so far this cup, but then i had to restart my browser and lost it all. maybe i'll put those thoughts down later, but anyway, both films this round were very good, but the solomon is something special.

I like the way that the Gilic short transforms from Sisyphus to Tantalus towards the end, but I'm gonna have to go with the crowd on this one, as I also found the Solomon short very moving and beautiful.

snowman: all i could think of during this was him filming his son in real life, without all the special effects and such, and his son like "wtf pops, why are you making me shovel snow so you can film it, I'm like four years old. come on." but Phil is just like "okay let's do another take put some back into it this time"
homo sapiens [sapiens]: i remain untantalised but if i watch much more of this i fear i will become quite sisyphied

the solomon movie is a kaddish so actually you have to like it cos that's a yiddish word
in what way is it a kaddish... cause the creator said it is? ...hmm...
Solomon wins
