yeah and it's not because scfz doesn't care for welles, ozu or godard -- 5 welles films, 7 ozu films and 11 godard films got votes in our poll. just not those ones!

Adding my thanks for Flip's work and everyone's contributions... it's not a bad list compared to others like it. My curiosity about the Indian films is piqued; nice to have an open frontier. (I just came back from my first visit to India, so even more interested than usual.)

What happened to Extraordinary Stories? I was happy to see it place so high last year. Even though it wasn't quite one of my favorites, I could totally see why people love it.

Well done! These "Hugely Famous Films That Didn't Even Get A Single Vote From SCFZ-ers" don't indicate that we don't appreciate films of the calibre of Tokyo Story, Breathless, or Citizen Kane, only that we think there are many other films that are at least their equal in enjoyability and objective "greatness".

Is it too much to ask you, flip, to post the titles of every film that was voted for in this poll, in alphabetical order? That would be amazing!

Personally i am extremely happy, but also almost bewildered about how Die Parallelstrasse made the list (and at #28). The selection is very exciting, and I like how the algorythm places a high preference on key favorites that may only have been seen/loved by a few.

die parallelstrasse is a long standing favorite of mine and i believe i influenced some others here to watch it. i should credit the late twodeadmagpies for this discovery as well as thousands of others! SALLY IF YOU'RE OUT THERE . anyways yeah it's kind of an SCFZ movie

i miss extraordinary stories too. i'll have to check these five indian films that somehow outranked Dil se...

i don't have any easy way to alphabetize the list, but i can post the list of all the films and you can paste it into a spreadsheet if you want to alphabetize it yourself. problem is, i want to put it behind spoiler tags because it's almost 1500 films long, and the spoiler tags don't seem to work? when i try using them (either using the crossed out eye or manually typing the tags) the tags themselves don't show up, but everything else displays as normal.

Hi Flip, I'm a bit confused. You said:

- If you want to, you can also vote for an additional five films (or less), in addition to the fifty above. Put these at the top of your ballot - these films will get 6 points each, so will get the most points of all. The idea behind this additional tier is to let voters give extra support specifically to great films that might not have been seen by enough people to attract multiple votes. So while there are no restrictions on what you can put in this bonus tier, I hope people will use it for that purpose: to highlight great films that haven't been widely seen, and which deserve more points than they'd get in a standard poll (which is always partly a popularity contest). This is the only structural change I'm making this year (though I'll change the rule if people don't like it).

yeah, 199 films had 7 or more points, and i added the least-seen film with 6.2 points (seasons by brakhage/solomon) to get to 200. no film with only 1 vote in total had enough points to make the final list.
