The other thing they had in common was "outside USA" -- but Flip is A + B and doesn't have their problem.

Can you guys find out if those having trouble are using prosilver theme, and also if they happened to use the shoutbox during the two minutes it was up?

Pabz: prosilver: no. (Default.) Shoutbox: no.
Liquid Nature: in USA, not outside. My mistake. Also says he can't access the page on his phone either.

'For the records, I am in the USA - not an international user (I live in Colorado), on a Mac (but my iPhone wouldn't let me login either), and I did not use the shoutbox, and I use whatever theme the forum was setup with - haven't changed it.'

edit: lencho :cowboy: is faster than me. good luck bure

peacefulanarchy reply message: We've had a few rare instances where people have messed up an email or password change, but nothing widescale. What does "locked out" mean? Are admins still able to login? What happens when locked out people try to reset passwords?

If it's a matter of emails not getting through then that's not too hard to fix or work around (though on a large scale would be tedious). If they're locked because of a limit on login attempts then that can probably be reset though you'd want to look through server logs to try to see why it's happening. I can't at the moment think of what else it could be, a server malfunction would take the forum down not just lock people out.

This is liquidnature. I'm able to create a new account, so there must be an issue with the individual user accounts. Have you tried clearing the site cache/cookies Bure, or individual account caches? (i don't really know how it all works).

Interesting. I wonder what the users having problems have in common. Must be something in their cache that is no longer valid, like for example they have some connections to another user that was deleted...

@Bure, is there a site log that registers all the errors encountered? Might shed some light. In the meantime, you've probably done that already, but you should blow away any cache that can be reset/deleted...

BTW there's an ongoing discussion on Lencho's letterboxd wall. Might be useful for the admins to take a look.

my conversation w/peacefulanarchy about this. i forwarded pabz mssg @ lencho's wall
[We're not exactly "locked out", we're still able to sign in, but as soon as we do sign in, the page goes completely white/blank. We can read everything as guests, but once we sign in, we're "blind", everything disappears. We can't see a thing, so we can't even find the text/hypertext that we'd need to click on to change our passwords.]
they're able to make new accounts, or at least some of them did. there's no common thread that we can find -- some are US, some overseas, some on mac, some on pc or phone. they tried clearing cookies and the cache
PA: Weird. I can't think why that would be, especially if it's not happening to everyone and it's not browser specific. I'll think about it and see if I can find anything.

As an admin I would try to reset the password and try to log in to an affected account (with permission from the user) to see what's happening and confirm that it's account related, but I don't really know where I'd go from there. Maybe check the page source.

Actually, I have one suspect. Does scfz have different themes? If so then maybe all these people were using a non default theme and something got messed up with the code in that.

just a second ago, i was editing a post in the cannes betting thread (the post that compiles the guardian ratings) and i got an error message when i submitted my edits that i'd never seen before:

[phpBB Debug] PHP Warning: in file [ROOT]/vendor/s9e/text-formatter/src/Parser/FilterProcessing.php on line 101: call_user_func_array() expects parameter 1 to be a valid callback, class 's9e/TextFormatter/Parser' does not have a method 'filterAttributes'
[phpBB Debug] PHP Warning: in file [ROOT]/includes/functions.php on line 1868: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at [ROOT]/includes/functions.php:3365)
despite the error message, the edit seemed to work just fine, and i did everything again and the same happened (same error message but the edits stuck) so don't know if it matters at all.

i also just got the same(? i think? i'll check right now when i post this) error message when i posted the post above

edit - i didn't get an error making this post, not sure why, nor one when making this edit, so maybe it was an issue for two minutes and has been solved already

Does anyone know how many users are locked out at the moment?

And I was wondering if admins can see when was the last time every user logged in?

I guess there could be more users with the same problem, only they haven't found a way to tell about it.
