based on my preliminary r/tartaria research it seems Trump is gonna run for president in 2024 with the MTGA marketing claim (Make Tartaria Great Again) and on the banner he is gonna replace the Republican elephant for Tartarian basilisk!

I'm finally seeing a tiny tide-shift here in the U.S. Similar to what happened recently with BLM. the internet and smartphones are providing metric tons of documentary evidence that even the New York Times can't spin. My jewish friends who were typically quietly ashamed of what Israel does in their name are suddenly a lot less quiet. That shift is a good thing, but it's disgusting that it took 73 years to just get people to acknowledge that this does, kinda-sorta, look a lot like ethnic cleansing.

someone said on german tv two nights ago, it's time to stop punishing the palestinians for what europeans did to the jews in ww2. truth

https://twitter.com/MaxBlumenthal/statu ... 94987?s=20

german tv apologized for airing the interview:
An item in German outlet Die Nachrichten confirms that the broadcaster expressed regrets after “an activist made anti-Semitic remarks in a news program on Tuesday and that he wanted to justify acts of terrorism.”
“Even if it is not always possible to completely prevent statements from interview guests in a live situation, this mistake should not have happened,” the report adds.

“We regret that,” it quotes a Deutsche Welle spokesperson saying.

got my 2nd jab today! i'm freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

vaccine roll out still hasn't been the fastest here, and done by age bracket, (brother's super young wife still not been able to have her first jab) but according to government numbers, of the age groups that were up the receiving ladder, every single person in england age 75-79 has had it (ie zero anti vax sentiment) which is remarkable when all the brexit fuckheads are otherwise so trumpy

My dad's getting his second jab tomorrow. 40-45 year olds are receiving their first dose at the moment so it seems like I will be getting my first jab in mid-late july perhaps.

i got my first jab two weeks ago.
three weeks after the first jab one is (here) relieved of the duty to be tested prior to going to a gallery, cinema, or hairdresser.
so next week i might go (after more than a year) to see some exhibition or go swimming in the pool or go getting a haircut — if finding any time for any of this (paradoxically, when all of this was inaccessible i had plenty of time).
my second jab is scheduled for the end of this month.

I am getting my first shot (Pfizer) on Saturday and the second one three weeks after that. A week after the second shot I'll be able to get what is here locally established as "the opportunity passport" which works through QR code.

Since May 31st Lithuania started mass vaccination for everyone aged 16 and above.

they've been wearing yellow stars in protests here (protests about anti lockdown when lockdown was ending and anti passport when no such thing has been introduced)

interesting to see what's happening where...testing in czechia, passports in lithuania...

i think the reasoning here is that cuz vaccine uptake looks set to be high enough ie most people will get one if offered, trying to impose passports was politically and effectively redundant...(although i looked at requirements for going on holiday abroad and that is still......complicated)

anyone anywhere else got any restrictions? think usa has totally opened everything up everywhere? masks still obligatory? (as here, delightful sweaty summer face)

I'm just south of the Canada border here... and to be honest, we were never truly shut down and masks were never truly obligatory. America's a bad place.

yeah i think the line is "you don't need a mask if you're vaccinated" which is...i guess places either require proof or vaccination (a card or ny state at least is trying to implement some kind of electronic tracker system you can opt into) or just take you at your word, or enforce a mask policy at their own discretion (i.e. it is up to the workers to do the work as usual). fwiw i think nyc vaccination rate is below 50%, with extreme inequality in terms of income and geography represented in that number.

people in my neighborhood are still being generally polite and wearing masks in grocery stores and laundromats and bodegas without being prompted to do so.

india i think is continuing to extend lockdowns and curfews...

We don't have to wear masks if we've had both shots and I can't believe how many people I work with still wont get it. They paid us 100 dollars! They say they're waiting to see what happens. Fine wear a mask all summer, idiots

strange how many policy variations there are, and approaches, we have to carry on wearing a mask (by law! except, it's a crap law and literally every prosecution for any of the regulation breaches has been challenged especially as they're doing them all de facto in secret courts, eh this country) cuz you can still transmit even if you've been vaxxed.

everyone today is dooming about the delta (indian) variant that they could have stopped coming here but didn't and it's twice as likely to put you in hospital as other variants and there is some vaccine escape.

also they gave you money for getting the vaccine? i liked the study somewhere that showed that the most effective incentive to encourage vaccine uptake rather than hard cash or free food/beer, was a lottery ticket. (psychologists positing that people overestimating negative effects (of vaccine) as reason for not getting would also cancel that out by overestimating positive chances of winning lottery)

The whole vax thing is interesting. Generally speaking I don't trust doctors. Have had many bad experiences. I do trust scientists and academics, at least more so. This didn't seem like a Dr issue. I get not trusting Drs, and not trusting the government. They lie. But scientists was saying oxy gunna fuck people up for ages while drs were just handing them out. Scientists are wrong, all the time, but the scientific community doesn't LIE, unless they're employed by industry. I'm not sure who or what specifically you mistrust to be anti-vax

these were the countries with the highest vaccine hesitancy from january (so will have changed since then as a lot of 'wait-&-see's' saw, and started getting it)

not sure what you extrapolate from that apart from that jiri is very public spirited

Hard to blame countries in the global South tho. Or any historically maltreated group. Whites literally do go to African and Latin countries peddling vaccines and actually sterilizing them. Canada's done it to Turtle Island's Indigenous people as recently as like the 90s? Shit Israel is doing it right now, to black Jews who they convince to move to Palestine

Wow I just opened my work email and they are now advertising a 5 million dollar drawing lol. I don't play the lottery but $100 was more than worth it to go without a mask when it's 100 F. I may wear it when cold and flu season returns. As an added bonus, it keeps your face warm. Plus I have a bunch of cute ones now ☺

we're just above 50% of adults having at least one shot but the goal is 70% or higher. we'll likely never reach herd immunity. plus trump's going on tour again...

looking forward to the Laibach version...
Chorus:
We are Britain
And we have one dream
To unite all people
In one great team (repeat)

Verse 1:
Our nation survived through many storms and many wars
We’ve opened our doors, and widened our island’s shores
We celebrate our differences with love in our hearts
United forever, never apart

Chorus:
We are Britain
And we have one dream
To unite all people
In one great team (repeat)

Verse 2:
So many different races, standing in the same place
So many different faces, moving at the same pace
We all stand together with pride in our hearts
United forever, never apart

Chorus:
We are Britain
And we have one dream
To unite all people
In one great team (repeat)

Outro:
Strong Britain, Great Nation
Strong Britain, Great Nation
Strong Britain, Great Nation
Strong Britain, Great Na-a-tion.

oh that piece of ridiculous garbage! that was days ago, there's something else now that's making the entire country die of cringe. (the health secretary of state who has been in charge of pandemic response having affair with aide whilst on the job - absolutely no parallels with sex-god former chancellor engaged to his now pregnant former aide, i am absolutely not watching this video and imagining that it's GO porn)
