i am completely here for 1972 music-wise (1911 was a bit sparse, apart from the evil evil ear worm 'are we down-hearted' which i never ever ever want to hear again)

ditched spotify should've done it long ago trying out tidal now
i have missed the whole spotify furore and i think i intend to still miss it seeing as i wouldn't have a clue how to listen to music otherwise now
still stuck in 72 prog-land but just realised frank zappa's favourite song of 75 is from 1972 (altho i first became acquainted with it through the, what was it, revolting cocks (?) version when i was in my skinny puppy/coil/throbbing gristle/swans type stuff messy teen phase)

i don't blame anyone for using spotify but i really hate rogan and also it's started to annoy me with repeats (after 3 years). copied a few playlists over and tidal is adjusting to my eclectic tastes
sorry greennui but my lastfm page is now a monument to 14 years of my music evolution. from my personalized mix #8:

Lol between their HQ stream and freeleech I keep getting knocked offline
edit: i've exceeded my data plan twice in one week. 10 days freeleach is too long!

oh no is that my fault?
what is this rogan thing then? (who is this rogan thing) it must be serious, stewart lee has taken his stuff off spotify (i didn't know he was on there tbh, i only use it for music, don't even look at all the other crap like podcasts or whatever they are)

This is the gist of it, I think:
Short liberatrian man has biggest podcast in world that is also a spotify exclusive, invites antivax nutjobs, neil young doesn't approve, wants his music deleted, more artists follow suit, spotify and short liberatrian man make apologies and wows to improve themselves, the end?

pretty close. rogan is a MAJOR gateway to the alt-right. he has had shows with white supremacists and alex jones (that spotify will not carry). he had jordan peterson last week (another major gateway to the alt-right) and they opined about how odd it was that people who don't live in africa can call themselves black. i guess his promotion of anti-vaxxers was too much for neil (who hates spotify anyway). a lot of artists can't just blow off spotify but neil and joni can and so they did. i wanted to quit when they signed rogan (for 100 mill!) and i'm glad i have done it now. it is the most popular podcast on earth and that is disturbing -- esp when they can just casually decide who should be able to call themselves black (rogan also feels they should not be wearing clothes) i am against censorship of course, they can say what ever they want but spotify is giving them a platform to convert even more young white men to the white supremacist cause and it is disgusting
also tidal is owned by artists! except jay z who sold his share to jack dorsey for a seat on the board of square
to sum up: white men, the most oppressed group. he's worse than limbaugh to me, more insiduous and more dangerous. he's 'just asking questions'
Rogan appeals to people who fear the devaluation of their rights more so than they support others gaining them at all.
white men, lacking in representation. sorry, i really hate this guy! Lol remember those trolls I used to fight with at mubi - around the time of gamergate?? This is still the same shit . Sry for the rant

https://sports.yahoo.com/joe-rogan-podc ... 49230.htmlSpotify launched Joe Rogan’s popular podcast this week. But the batch of 1,691 episodes of “The Joe Rogan Experience” currently available on the streaming platform is conspicuously missing a several controversial segments.
The Rogan episodes on Spotify omit his interviews with far-right figures including notorious conspiracy monger Alex Jones of InfoWars (whose podcasts Spotify and other platforms pulled in 2018 for policy violations). Other “Joe Rogan Experience” episodes not available include those with Proud Boys founder Gavin McInnes; ex-Breitbart News editor Milo Yiannopoulos; Charles C. Johnson, who’s been described as a “race-baiting troll”; alt-right political commentator and comedian Owen Benjamin; Stefan Molyneux, who “amplifies ‘scientific racism,’ eugenics and white supremacism,” per the Southern Poverty Law Center; and anti-feminist personality Carl Benjamin (aka Sargon of Akkad).
https://www.theindustryleaders.org/post ... s-a-leaderRogan himself suggested that his podcast is so popular with the male demographic because he believes that they are seeking representation and a space for people, like him, who fear marginalisation as a result of progressive gender theory and the implementation of equal rights policies and laws. Rogan appeals to people who fear the devaluation of their rights more so than they support others gaining them at all.

thanks! i was pretty broad with 'prog' after reading tons of men arguing in youtube comments, i just meant, in that direction, away from pop music or classical. although i am fine, just fine, for japanese 1972 jazz now, gosh there was a lot of that.
Your youtube recommendations will be nothing but vintage Japanese music for ever now.
that's okay with me - tbh sometimes their algorithms are better than spotify!
(yes i WOULD like to see another funny animal video, altho at the moment it seems obsessed with guinea pigs)
