SCFZ poll: Atom Egoyan
I've got 6 Woos, looks like we have enough to do him but happy to run it up to 8 if not.
We've done Coppola, Ridley Scott, and Lynch yes? I'm starting to lose track. (Nevermind, just checked the master list an saw we had, just don't remember which films I voted for.)
Ooh, I forgot about Stuart Rosenberg, he directed a Cage flick but probably doesn't have enough views, Oliver Stone and Alan Parker might have the views, but I'd rather do Joel Schumacher than them. (These are just notes to help for next time since it looks like Woo will work, if Donaldson doesn't. )

Are we tying in this Nic Cage poll with his birthday this week? How thoughtful!

Well, I'm generally not a "celebrity" guy, but sometimes you just gotta celebrate the real legends of cinema history. Are we tying in this Nic Cage poll with his birthday this week?
I mean I'd prefer skipping choosing yet another director and just polling the best Nic Cage films, but this is Flip's baby, so I'll play by his rules and pick one of his directors instead and just look forward to a chance to do a Cage poll some other time.

great, thanks, roger donaldson definitely works, so unless greg would prefer a different choice, i'll start that poll up today!
12 stone
7 schumacher
6 donaldson
6 verbinski
didn't even bother looking up some of the others cuz apparently i watch movies by only mediocre-to-poor directors

Donaldson is a-okay with me and this all helped give me other options for future polls. Thanks!
i was a bit surprised egoyan had so few views, i then guessed he's more celebrated in canada than elsewhere, but even the other canadians here hadn't seen many of his films, so now i don't know what to think. anyway not a surprising top two or three:
