there was no support for a few of his 1960s films, and most of his 1990s output, but every film coppola made from 1969 through 1992 got a vote with the exception of the cotton club.

and we didn't vote one of the godfather films for #1:

results

1. The Conversation (1974) -- 40 pts
2. The Godfather (1972) -- 38 pts
3. The Godfather II (1974) -- 28 pts
4. Apocalypse Now (1979) -- 26 pts
5. Dracula (1992) -- 20 pts
6. Rumble Fish (1983) -- 16 pts
7. One From the Heart (1982) -- 15 pts

Tetro is damn underrated. Nice to see that get votes. Twixt was a misfire to me.

Coppola is still somewhat underrated to me when you look at his career as a whole. He is more of a polystylist, and a sensualist, than most of the New Hollywood directors, and that makes him harder to pigeonhole. He has big balls and takes real risks. Who else would have distributed Our Hitler in the US or blown almost their entire fortune on a huge gamble like One From The Heart?

Coppola's aesthetic sensibilities are more developed than his intellectual ones, and I find the problem with some of his work is the inability to successfully merge the two, especially in films like Tetro and Youth Without Youth, but Tetro is a great mood piece and it pulls me in every time I watch it.
