SCFZ poll: Lloyd Bacon
Bring on the Coppola. Even though I suspect there'll be few surprises.
These matters are best disposed of from a great height. Over water.

Looks like Forman would work fine if that's the preference, and Coppola also works, so St. Gloede can pick either. (Assuming I remember Flips' rules of eights right I mean.)

Like many studio directors of his position, Lloyd Bacon appears to have had a pattern of being assigned to direct star-genre film cycles: Joe E. Brown comedies, Warner's musicals alongside Berkeley, Edward G. Robinson gangster comedies, and, later, physical comedienne outings for Lucille Ball at Columbia. Much of that work is reliable entertainment, from what little I've sampled. Seen 8, votes below.
1. Miss Grant Takes Richmond (1949, Columbia)
2. Footlight Parade (1933, Warner Bros.)
3. Gold Diggers of 1937 (1936, Warner Bros.)
4. Brother Orchid (1940, Warner Bros.)
