woohoo someone else watched ausma! so glad..i'm a great fan of everything she's done...

now, i watched garoto - consistent response to bressane, great, mature filmmaker, but the women in his films are objects, or things (wise or damning) for the men to react against. but aside from that, and it wasn't that bad this time, it's mostly outdoors so automatically enjoy it

also watched tomasz mielnik's journey to rome which was very czech, gently/slightly icky, very amusing for the first half, but flagged a lot later, nevertheless. enjoyed, it's an icky kaurismaki








and juraj herz!


and i also wondered if they'd hired jiri as location scout...
