Thanks flip! I find this poll starter-list really helpful coz it potentially unearths many obscure and otherwise overlooked treasures.

After all, if it featured on a SCFZer's list of the 100 best films ever made, it means it'll probably have at least something going for it, right?! 8-)

Each one of these films belongs in someone's top 100 films of all time!

Wait just one minute. The Parent Trap got a vote and it was the 1998 version? Over the '61?? I'm taken aback by this. That cast in the '61 version is fabu, how did the later one beat it?

It's a fun list to search, either randomly, or using a key word (e.g, director's name) or a year. Many hours of discoveries and surprises. :D

Using FIREFOX's Edit>>Find in this page tool, I discovered that nine Bergmans were voted for.

If I'm not mistaken, Kanafani did some stats analysis based on the same poll from last year. :typing:

I wasn't a big fan of Lourdes, but liked another film from Jessica Hausner - Amour Fou (2014).

Yeah, I really got the feeling this year that SCFZ's tastes have become a lot more diverse than in past years. That's all good, but some of the films and directors SCFZ used to highlight in these polls didn't do that well this year (Hong Sang-soo for example only got two votes, and Zeki Demirkubuz just one, and films like Extraordinary Stories dropped out of the top 200). I used to feel that these top 100 lists had a certain aesthetic orientation, a certain kind of personality that was recognizably SCFZ, and that's harder to identify this year.

There's lots of data I didn't collect from the poll results, but could have - if anyone wants to work out which directors got votes for the most different films, say, you could use the list above to do that.

I should add that I wasn't too careful counting the number of ballots featuring each film, so those asterisks next to the film title will probably occasionally be off by one. I was more careful with the point tally.

I was lazy this year and did not ask people to create individual letterboxd ballots. I can only analyze this long list if someone create a letterboxd list out of it.

I'm the culprit. Some other controversial votes from my top 50: Titanic, WALL-E, Pippi Longstocking (1997), The Iron Giant, Mulan, The Emperor's New Groove. These are all a combination of what I think is actual quality and nostalgia (I saw most if not all of these theatrically as a child).

An amazing animated short from the great Swiss animator Georges Schwizgebel, think you'll dig his films.

I was just bowled over by Lourdes, and totally fell in love with that film. Especially that ending!!! Saw it at the cinema in Germany back in 2009, but haven't seen another Hausner.
I absolutely NEED to see all her other stuff, cause her directing was imo adorbale/venerable (don't know the right English word for the German "anbetungswürdig").
Somehow I also missed Amour Fou on the big screen, when it was released. :(

I am also a fan of The Emperor's New Groove. Though it's not a favorite of mine, it's imo the best Disney (or Pixar) film I've seen from the last 30 years.

I think it was my very first favourite film. :-D Need to revisit it sometime.
