I'm in the middle of Germi's In nome della legge and it feels like a kind of mix of Visconti and Pasolini. Loving it!

I had to go look for a replacement copy of this, and while I was searching, I ran across a JPN-1957 Invisible Man Mets The Human Fly which now intrigues me no end. Human Fly a la Vincent Price? Before Vincent Price? Gimme!
The opposite of 'reify' is... ?
Going to watch INVISIBLE MAN APPEARS soon as part of today's japanese 1949 double-bill
started with the relatively unseen HERE'S TO THE YOUNG LADY by kinoshita, starring setsuko hara as a potential bride (wow). great stuff. won't quite make my list, but a solid 3.5/5 and the best kinoshita i've had so far. the music is huge in this movie. from the western score to the japanese folk songs to the classical music ballet scenes, this is a story told to the temperment of music. hara is great, and it's nice to see her outside of a kurosawa/ozu flick (i don't think i had until this)

thx lencho for boosting ohara shosuke-san who ended in the top ten!
1949 was a very good year list
and everyone fighting the battle against the third man who still came out on top. one of my longstanding faves from earliest cinephilia so i could never leave it out
this result is ok with me except crows and sparrows deserved more views...

don't like The Third Man, and was never a fan of it. Don't understand why people love it.
