1. Ordet
Only seen 3, but gotta give some love to Ordet: one of my all-time favs, probably the best movie ever made about religion that I'm aware of. I probably love Passion of Joan of Arc too but I haven't seen it many years (and don't have the voting space for it anyway)

To please the majority is the requirement of the Planet Cinema. As far as I'm concerned, I don't make a concession to viewers, these victims of life, who think that a film is made only for their enjoyment, and who know nothing about their own existence.
Re: SCFZ poll: Carl Theodor Dreyer
this was a close one, without wba's ballot there would have been a tie for 1st. and it seems fair to say that any winner other than the passion of joan of arc would be a bit of a surprise, so... we have a surprise winner! and a surprise in 2nd place too i guess.
only two of dreyer's feature length films didn't get a vote - his first film, the president (1919) and two people (1945), which he later disowned (but i thought it was a good film even if dreyer didn't).
results
1. Day of Wrath (1943) -- 38 pts
2. Ordet (1955) -- 37 pts
3. The Passion of Joan of Arc (1928) -- 34 pts
4. Vampyr (1932) -- 29 pts
5. Gertrud (1963) -- 25 pts
6. The Parson's Widow (1920) -- 12 pts
7. They Caught the Ferry (1948) -- 7 pts
8. The Bride of Glomdal (1926) -- 6 pts

Re: SCFZ poll: Carl Theodor Dreyer
Nice. I has a tough time deciding between the top two and left off Joan, so I'm pretty happy with the result.
Re: SCFZ poll: Carl Theodor Dreyer
Don't like Joan, so it's ok with me.

Re: SCFZ poll: Carl Theodor Dreyer
crap. forgot to vote. but it looks like my votes wouldn't have made any diff anyways. i'm glad gertrud at least made the top five
Re: SCFZ poll: Carl Theodor Dreyer
i'd still count a ballot that came in today, and it might matter if others vote today too
Re: SCFZ poll: Carl Theodor Dreyer
gertrud
the passion of joan of arc
*seen four (thought for a second there that i could cause some havoc and make ordet my number two, but joan is just so good, even tho falconetti infuriatingly never blinks)
