so as not to be suspected of excessive humbleness (viz another year poll thread) i plainly admit that 1964 marks the peak of my overall subbing efforts (testified by the PM received from a fellow cinephile on 2014-04-29)...



if you ask what movie this PM (which i have been guarding carefully for 11 years already and which makes me go soft whenever i re-read it) refers to, then know it’s THE CRY (by Jaromil Jireš) — if you haven't watched it yet, don’t miss the opportunity to also shed some tears of joy over the brilliant film & subs!

Goodbye, Boys! is listed as 1966 on IMBd, and this might be one of those occasions where they're correct - made in '64, briefly released in '66 before being banned. IMDb is all over the place with these dates, though. Drahomíra Vihanová's Squandered Sunday, which I didn't get around to seeing for the last poll, is listed as a 1990, while Menzel's Larks on a String, which was also finally only released in 1990, is listed at 1969.
