No idea what they were doing there, it just seems like a huge non sequitur. Anyone else?

Let's check Werner Schroeter. I've got 12.

If he doesn't work then Mark Rappaport. I've got 21.

i think i have one of each, but i think both of those directors have admirers in these parts, and i'm almost certain rappaport will work, but let's check both! if anyone has seen several schroeter or rappaport films, please post here

I didn't know Mark Rappaport directed films as well. I thought he was really funny in those episodes of Friends

rappaport definitely works, no need for more replies on him, but let's see if we can get a schroeter poll happening, i think joks might have seen a lot of schroeter films?

Shoot. I'll replace him with Jess Franco then, we checked him before and he worked.

Franco!!!

Only seen 15 of Jesus' 200+ films, but there were already many masterpieces among them. Truly, he was the messiah, the son of the cinema-gods.

ha, i forgot to check if we'd done rappaport, but that sounds familiar now! we haven't done franco, so that will be our next poll unless we get more replies on schroeter in the next few hours

Edited my ballot to include the just-watched The Wicked Darling, which was quite well-done and a brisk hour.

i think i'll start up the franco poll (or schroeter poll if we get more feedback on him) on friday, rather than today, focused on a non-film project right now and want to slow the poll pace a bit

in that case, i think we can do a schroeter poll! so i'll start that tomorrow, and we'll get to franco a bit later on

and if you'd be willing to vote in the 1975 cannes poll, that would be great - i think you mentioned you'd seen aloise (liliane de kermadec), and we won't get any input about that film otherwise, i don't think: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=740

i posted about Aloise here viewtopic.php?p=30797#p30797
i like Aloise's paintings but don't like much the film.
and besides Aloise, i watched only 2 more films from Cannes nominees so i can hardly participate.
the same goes for Tod — i watched only 2 films, i.e. i would vote only for Freaks which is probably pointless.
it is not i would be boycotting (some of) the polls, i only don't have enough viewings to take part.

i have no wish to try to persuade you to vote if you don't want to, but if you're only considered that you've seen too few films, the voting system is designed so anyone can participate fairly, regardless of how much they've seen
