it varies from day to day tbh. some days 0, some days 20. but i'm not sure it's a chance we can take. if 20 bots got in here overnight and started spamming... oh man that would be a beast to clean up

ideally i want to install a simple question for auto-approval (like "who directed vertigo") but it requires some coding and last time i tried it proved more difficult than i anticipated. but that would be ideal

I have completely forgotten how to code for this forum. I've written six or seven codes to get my letterboxd page to appear in my signature here with this forum's letterboxd icon, and still no success so far. Can someone tell me what the code is to do that? Thanks!

So I put this in (without spaces):

:lbo xd:

and it tells me "Add URL"

So what am I doing wrong?

You can also always quote someone else's post to see exactly what coding they used in it, and then copy it yourself. So click quote on this post I'm writing now, and then copy this URL code I'm using and see if it works for you:

there is a captcha already, the russian bots are pretty good at figuring it out... impressive, because i get them wrong all the time -__-

i've changed activation to self-activation (via email). hopefully the bots don't know how to do this. i guess we'll see shortly...

wow this was INCREDIBLY simple, i can't believe i couldn't figure it out

we now have self-activation, and a skill-testing question (if someone doesn't known the director of citizen kane, orson's, last name... they won't enjoy this place right?)... so hopefully no more delays, no more accidentally not approving real ppl, but also no more bots!!

Request to our wonderful scfz mods:

Could one of you please go to the polls section and archive all the directors polls that've closed? They're cluttering up that area of the forum. Thanks!

Rene Clair and Lumiere aren't finished yet and you put them in the year poll archive instead of the director poll archive :?

Pretty sure our security services ran out after two years. We're gunna have to do a fundraising, might as well raise for a few years of hosting and domain name as well. I'll look into prices tonight

Yes. It started yesterday.

EDIT -- and it stopped when I posted this.

EDIT AGAIN -- and it started again when I posted in the RIP thread about le Carre.

EDIT AGAIN AGAIN -- and it did it again when I posted the above edit. You get the idea...

this is just a nitpicky thing, but can we make filmmaker's city a subforum under film discussion? last post there was on 10/24/19, sooo......

Could do, but why exactly? Is it burdensome as it is, or is it just the aesthetics of having a tiny forum? Very little activity, for sure, but it's for sure more likely to encourage participation if it stands out

It looks awfully desolate...Two threads, one with zero replies and the other with just the one (the thread starter himself).

Are we even in need of a filmmakers subforum? None of the regulars seems to be doing that kind of stuff and If someone actually were to do a film then I imagine they could just post a thread about it in the film discussion forum
