I don't want to take a turn necessarily, but is it L.I.R.?
The opposite of 'reify' is... ?
i've no idea what film cryptic lencho is referring to, but it's not that. actually don't think anyone's seen this so you'll have to figure it out by recognizing people - i had to clear out my hard drive and i've a limited amount of films to get screenshots from. i took a lot from this cuz *hot man* but i'll go with the boring old actresses first

My other first thought was the Man Who Reclaimed His Head, but no, I thought, she wouldn't post that because nobody's seen it. But it won't be that, cuz Claude rains =/= 'hot man'.

It looks way too much like the Stewart/Simone Seventh Heaven, with the rooftop garret and the exact same outfit Simone wears, black dress with crucifix necklace, but it isn't that is it?
nope, but same year! and funnily enough, also a remake of a silent film. will post hot man tomorrow

"The Incredible Shrinking Woman" was one of Joel Schumacher's first features. IMO, his visual aesthetic for the film was quite meticulous and thoughtful and, as a result, there is a distinct beauty in the color palette and style. The visuals never completely cross into garishness like some of his later features certainly did.
And the giant sets and special effects were a lot of fun - certainly when I watched it as a kid.
your screenshots sold me on it - there are several schumacher films i don't care for, but i like some of them for sure, and i haven't seen any of his earliest work

Getting a Shimizu Hiroshi vibe from the film-within-the-film in those screenshots.
Ha! I actually tried looking for any such info, but with no luck.twodeadmagpies wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2020 3:50 pm I've no idea, but do we get to find out what movie they were watching?
In a film you all are guessing this scene is set at a Japanese cinema (but not in Japan), so it should be an old Japanese film. I don't think that anyone here could identify it.
