it's piniero's worst film i think. the great argentine film of the year is gold bug which has (among many other things) one of the best straub/huillet jokes i've seen in a movie (maybe the only straub/huillet joke i've seen in a movie?).
Just watched Non-Stop, what glorious nonsense. Hoping to squeeze in Hill of Freedom, Eden, Heaven Knows What and Ex-Machina before the deadline, might be a touch ambitious.
how I feel about all of the Collet-Serra's that I've seen. They are wonderful and terrible at the same time.
I also really like Unknown but sadly failed to get the 'wonderful' effect from The Commuter, even though it was the only one of the three I managed to see in the cinema.
From the Collet-Serra's I've seen I thought Non-Stop was by far the best. The other three weren't anywhere as good, sadly.

Nope only seen The Shallows (meh), The Commuter (decent), Unknown (interesting) and Non-Stop (enjoyed it very much). He doesn't seem to me to be a "worthwhile" filmmaker at all. Unnecessary sloppy at times. Not one I'm interested in exploring further. I saw so "many" cause I watched three with friends/family, and I generally like and seek out films on trains, films on planes, films about memory-loss and films where someone is (stuck) on open water. So I definitely enjoyed watching all of the films on those premises alone.

Ok, so it's like Red Bull. I thought it was something much more expensive, since I thought that guy they sold it to paid $1 per bottle, but maybe he paid them less than that.
Good film, though, as harsh and sad as it is.
Not sure I'll have time for my other planned watches before the deadline but Hill of Freedom goes straight onto the list, very funny, hits all the Hong notes.

I found it really endearing and real with dialogue that's mostly in broken English. Such a neat, bittersweet film.
