I find it interesting how popular Lancelot is here. I like that film a lot, but to me it isn't top shelf Bresson, although it has greatness in it, and I'd probably rank it 6th.

His films tend to grow on me though, generally speaking. L'argent wasn't anywhere near my top 5 on first viewing.

Bresson is among the most firmly closed avenues in all of cinema for me. Seen several, been almost entirely unmoved and unengaged and uninterested in the lot of them.
These matters are best disposed of from a great height. Over water.

Wow, I don't think my taste diverges from the group's for any director as much as it does for Bresson! Interesting stuff!
