I wouldn't dream of arguing about visuals on a purely aesthetic plane, because that's a waste of time. Of course you're right, anyone can find beauty according to his or her own experience and inclinations. But the visuals in VV are not merely pretty, they serve the purpose of the movie so well. Here's a riddle for anyone who wants to look deeper - what older German movie does Veronika Voss allude to?
