jesus, did rozier feed these shrieking idiots a cocktail of drugs to film du côté d'orouët? they may be the three most irritating young girls (so he's a sad perv too) i've ever seen. i'm halfway through. maybe there'll be a sudden reveal soon that makes this appealing. do they all die?

well, at least now i'm really acquainted with the backsides of young girls.

eugh. that was like a sweaty fever dream of a paedophile's 'pre-mature, sexless, unaware girls away' fantasy. i don't know why i bothered to learn to read & write at all. all i need to do is giggle & yowl & throw stuff. wish i'd known that years ago.

it's like lars von trier infantilising the beach house in out 1. i'm sad now and hate movies for a while......

duck, you sucker! (sergio leone) comedy? check. drama? check. bromance? double check. rod steiger as a mexican? cheque. what a blast (bad pun fully intended)! i haven't seen much leone, and what i have seen, i saw so long ago that i have pretty much no recollection of anything, other than there was no doubt an overabundance of close-ups. i guess he's just never been my guy really, or maybe i just need to give him another look, but this one was great! its tonal trajectory is so interesting, starting out as an easy going comedy (almost a hangout pic, with coburn and steiger just kinda doing their thing in the desert for like the first forty minutes of the film) only to turn into a more fast-paced action-type flick in the middle (a buddy bandit film) only to yet again turn into a more serious and contemplative drama. shit gets serious, but it never loses a beat. not to mention that coburn had fuxkin style yo. dude looked sharp in pat garrett and billy the kid, and here he looks just as badass. skinny jeans. trenchcoat. boots. motorcycle hat. the laidback way he shoots and kills peeps. the way he smokes a stoge. those eyebrows. a regular style icon imo. now let's all sit back and listen to morricone's sean sean. added to my list!

At first, I was going to have a sad if anything but Out One went into first place, but as the voting patterns became clearer, I started warming to the idea that either 2 LBT or A Touch Of Zen might beat it. That's what we do.

Well, it'd be difficult to pick a movie that says 1971 any more than Two Lane Blacktop, so the list's got that going for it at the very least. Not that I'm complaining about the selections mind you, it just seems weirder than usual even for here.
