no but i'm surprised people don't have more Bacons. He directed quite the eclectic mix of films. I've got 3.

I have 0 Bacons... Didn't know I've seen so little movies by so many classical Hollywood directors!
But I've seen 4 of the 5 Coopers listed on Imdb. Didn't know that either. Well...

carné made six features and a documentary from the approximate start of the new wave (1959/1960) onwards, and not one of them got a vote in our poll.

2. Port of Shadows (1938) -- 20 pts
3. Le Jour se Leve (1939) -- 12 pts
4. Juliette, or Key of Dreams (1951) -- 9 pts
4. Hotel du Nord (1938) -- 9 pts
6. Drole de Drame (1937) -- 7 pts
6. Les Visiteurs du Soir (1942) -- 7 pts
8. Therese Raquin (1953) -- 6 pts
9. Les Portes de la Nuit (1946) -- 1 pt

A couple of his 60s films are actually great, namely Wasteland and Three Rooms in Manhattan, but I would not count them among his best work. His work past this point feels tired, and The Marvelous Visit is just embarrassing.

I have not seen L'Air du Paris, definitely going to push it higher up my watchlist. And strong results for sure. Only surprised Therese Raquin got so much support. Almost voted for Les Tricheurs.
