I watch parks and recreation on the treadmill. I’m midway throug season 5. The show is fun. The cameos normalizing ghouls like McCain and Gingrich are not much fun though.

Dreams

I'm on a hill looking down on a long winding road. Lots of auto-body repair shops and junkyards. I see my car going along. No one is in it. I realize I am driving it with my mind. I make it take a sharp left. I hear a crash. Suddenly I'm in a courtyard surrounded by angry people. They say they're gy...

Re: The Films of 2018

And yes, I've seen Petzold's Transit, which was good, but easily his worst of the past 15 years. So nothing interesting there either. Well, he's made some amazing movies in the past 15 years, but really, wouldn't you take Transit over these for example? Polizeiruf 110: Kreise (2015) Dreileben: Beat...

I can tell you my favorite 2018 movies... in 2021 or 2022. I'll probably have watched some good ones by then.

The only 2018 I can wholeheartedly endorse today is Christian Petzold's Transit.

Re: Letterboxd Stats showdown: jimmy Stewart / John Wayne

Stewart 20 - Wayne 10 Would it maybe be easier to adjudge the winner if, instead of, e.g., "Stewart 20 - Wayne 10", I submitted my guess as Stewart +10? Covering S20-W10, but also S19W9, S18W8, etc. In cases in which some people's logs don't produce winners and it's not out of 30, it's th...

Re: Letterboxd Stats showdown: jimmy Stewart / John Wayne

My records tell me that 30 champs have rated at least one movie starring Wayne or Stewart. As a reminder, in the ultimate showdown, each champ gets one vote: Your vote goes to the actor whose movies you gave a higher average rating to. If you gave both actors the same average rating or you're one of...

Re: Letterboxd Stats showdown: jimmy Stewart / John Wayne

Letterboxd lists 195 John Wayne movies and 123 Stewart movies. I'm quite sure a lot of these may be skipped (say for example a 30 minute TV special about John Ford where Wayne pops up for 30 seconds). If you see such titles that I can remove, let me know.
