Re: Welcome!
tay garnett's one way passage has a lot of admirers around here, it's ranked really high in some of our polls. as you probably read in the clarence brown thread, every scfz member who participates in the director polls will eventually get a chance to nominate a director for a poll, so you'll get a c...

Re: A game for 2019?
oh sorry i wasn't involved in the planning discussion, but there's a good chance i'd participate, especially if we do shorts, since that makes it less of a time commitment. maybe if there are other people like me, it would make sense to decide a format, then see who might want to manage.

we haven't polled clarence brown (or victor fleming) yet - and while i imagine most people will have seen a few of their films, i wonder if enough will have seen 8+ to make for a poll. i've not seen more than three by either - anyone who has seen 8+ films by brown or fleming, please post here!

Re: Best of 2018 Poll + Oscars Poll
i don't make any strict rule about what qualifies as a 2018 film, in part because films that had a festival premiere in 2017, but were otherwise not viewable until 2018, should probably still be eligible, and in part because of the staggered releases films get around the world. but i think i won't c...

Best of 2018 Poll + Oscars Poll
Now that the Academy Awards nominations are up, it's time for our dual "best of the year" and "Oscars" polls. For the "Best of 2018" poll, I'm going to change the rules just slightly to at least give underseen films a slightly better chance. To participate: - post a lis...
