Jesus Christ, greennui, do you have spyware installed on my laptop? You got it.
:-P I make snippet music videos for a friend of mine's hip hop beats and not too long ago I scoured O Sangue for visual material, so it's pretty fresh in mind!

I've already watched everything I wanted to watch Image Main reason I wanted the new year now is because I'm going away travelling next week so I'm probably gonna miss the first two weeks of the next one.

Re: Last Watched

I watched it two days ago and I'm still processing it. I'd say it's a singular Denis film first and foremost, then a prison film and lastly a science fiction film.

Barry Lyndon
The Shining

Seen 11, all of them years and years ago, so some are very much in need of a rewatch (2001, A Clockwork Orange, Eyes Wide Shut and so forth).

Re: Last Watched

Cardiff's directorial career didn't quite live up to his work in cinematography did it.

The Girl on a Motorcycle is one of the worst films I've seen this year, though I spent most of the duration screenshoting Marianne Faithfull looking cute so I guess it wasn't a totally wasted watch.

Re: 1958 poll

My recollection of The Magician is a little too hazy and it's too much in need of a new appraisal (same story for most Bergman films I've seen) for me to include it in this poll but I do remember enjoying the Phantom Carriage homage, Ingrid Thulin's crossdressing and Max Von Sydow looking like a Ger...

Re: 1958 poll

Mannequin in Red (Arne Mattsson) - Man, Bava really lifted A LOT from this into Blood and Black Lace. A fairly decent, lurid and stylish thriller let down a little by corny attempts at comic relief. It was a bit closer to Tashlin than Bava in that aspect.

Mädchen in Uniform (Géza von Radványi) - Adequate though slightly watered down remake. A lesbian educator is the role Lilli Palmer was born to play, she did a mighty fine job as one in this and in The House That Screamed (1970) as well.

Moontide (Archie Mayo, 1942) - Man, the sound of the distant foghorns sounded just like a vibrating cell phone, made slightly anxious each time. Re: SCFZ poll: Ken Russell

His mad early 70's run beginning with Music Lovers and ending with Mahler was his finest period imo (I thought the Roger Daltrey films were terrible), though his high camp 80's period was fun as well. Still need to watch his early BBC films!
