Re: Television
Thanks, rischka. I'll do my best. Forgot a very important show, oink. Not sure if I mentioned it here before, but I watched an unhealthy amount of Peppa Pig as it's very good to memorize vocabulary. It's not as annoying as it may seem. Here's the place where I got the idea from, with a bunch of link...

Re: Television
Introduced my brother to Twin Peaks. Loved it just as much as before, perhaps even more. I have grown fond of characters I initially didn't care for, but Coop is still the best. Will be revisiting Season 3 this February, hopefully. Finally watched all episodes of Bluey. It's a beautiful show that mo...

Re: SCFZ 10th Anniversary Poll: Ballots
I barely watch movies anymore, but I would love to participate in this for old times' sake. Don't know when i'll have a list ready, though. Definitely before the 30th. Gave this a try, but it's no use... 😅 Had fun reading everyone's lists so far. It's been fun being part of this community. Take car...

Re: The Non-Film Thread
An interesting happening during the break of a famous weather programme from Japan. The weather camera almost seemed to be possessed by the spirit of Roberto Rossellini, specifically the remote-controlled zoom of his late period. It all ends in a beautiful scene that I dare not spoil. I also include...

Ich froue mich einen Antwort zu sehen. :) Bitte, habt keine Angst das wir nicht uns and anderen verstehen können. SCFZ's Tower of Babel
Welcome! This is a thread for everyone to practice their foreign languages. Beyond this post anything you want to say in English or in your mother tongue should be under spoiler tags . Feel free to talk about anything, this thread didn't really belong in the film discussion section of the forum, but...

Re: Languages
As long as we keep English and native languages under spoiler tags, we might not need to have penalties. The last thing I want is to discourage members from participating. What do you think? And finally, if you know of any good online resources for learning one or several languages, please share the...

We could keep everything in one thread by using the spoiler function, but I remember we had some problems with that in the past. How is it working for everyone? It's all good on my side.

Re: Languages
That's a great idea. Another way to go about it is to gatekeep some of your hobbies, if you happen to have a lot of them, behind a language you're learning. So say I wanted to play a video game, I could only do so if it's entirely spoken/written in Japanese or German. --- Sorry to keep you all waiti...

Re: Languages
Excellent! I'll try to have it up sometime this week. In the meantime, I'd love to hear some opinions on the dos and don'ts of the thread. Should we allow English/Native languages at all? If the answer is yes, then how about for every line of text in English or your mother tongue you must contribute...

I feel ya, everyone who's having trouble finding people to practice with. I was thinking about starting a thread to help us with this matter. The concept is that in that topic we wouldn't be allowed to write in English or in our mother tongues, that way we would be forced to communicate in whatever ...

What?! Is that time already? I completely forgot about this thing, but yeah, this is the year. I personally don't care about the main list, but I'm really looking forward to the individual ballots, those will be a lot of fun to check out. That said, I do hope there's a place on the big list for a wo...

Seen 9 Back to the Future Cast Away Contact Back to the Future Part II Who Framed Roger Rabbit I loved the Back to the Future trilogy as a child. Don't dismiss opera entirely until you've seen Robert Ashley's Perfect Lives. I mean, you might hate it too, but for different reasons. It's on Ubuweb. Now, whether that qualifies as an opera or not is up for debate.but I'm not a fan of Opera much in general.

I don't have as much time to watch movies anymore, and I didn't get to nearly what I wanted to for this year. I was going to suggest sticking with short films for a while, but you seem to be doing that already. While I'd like to throw the I've been busy card myself, truth is I've had time, I just h...

Well said, I agree, I've had a better time reading Blogdanovich than watching Bogdanovich and I can barely remember the ones I've seen.He knows how good film must look like, but didn`t manage to create his own storytelling, style.
