haven't nominated anything in some years but lets see how some of my holdovers from 5 years ago or something are doing

made it
Sepio (1996) 4,56-10
Love Must Love (1968) 4,00-9
Nuestra Señora de Paris (1982) 4,18-12

still holdover
Afriques: Comment ça va avec la douleur? [Africa, How Are You with Pain?] (1996) 4,50-6
Bellavista (2006) 6,00-2
Carriage Trade (1971) 4,17-6
Elsewhere (2001) 4,71-7
Orlando furioso (1974) 6,00-3
Print Generation (1974) 5,00-4
Regarding Penelope's Wake (2002) 4,60-5
Tarahumaras 78 (1979) 4,57-7
U.S.S. (1970) 6,00-3
Verlassen; Verloren; Einsam, Kalt [Abandoned; Lost; Lonely, Cold] (1992) 5,67-3
XIX saukunis qartuli qronika [The 19th Century Georgian Chronicle] (1979) 4,67-6

:cussing:
If You Stand with Your Back to the Slowing of the Speed of Light in Water (1997) 3,71-15 - when did this become so popular to get 15 votes?
Silvercup (1998) 3,14-7 - philistines
The Fall (1969) 4,50-4
What Maisie Knew (2012) 3,56-10

also really happy that 'illuminated texts' made it!

I loved the film. The problem is that it's a short. In the other forum they had a DtC nomination challenge, and people were trying to see every short in the list of nominees.

Whoa, "Viele kamen vorbei" made it!?

Viele kamen vorbei [Many Passed By] (1956) 4,30-11

As I don't understand how the brains of the people participating work and what kind of art they like (certainly not the stuff I enjoy, that's for sure!), this is somewhat of a surprise.

But looking at the results, one of Hsiao-hsien Hou's films got little support:

Hao nan hao nu [Good Men, Good Women] (1995) 3,17-26

And if you're into visuals, I'd say Hou is one of THE go-to guys in film history.

Edit:

E Dio disse a Caino... [And God Said to Cain] (1970) 2,71-15

Margheriti was one of the most visually oriented filmmakers in Italy during the 60s, with his black and white gothic horror films having arguably even more striking cinematography than Bava's, and this time he's working in Scope on a gothic western, and the film is a visual feast.

also:

Zacharovannaya Desna [The Enchanted Desna] (1964) 3,32-21
Barwy ochronne [Camouflage] (1977) 4,04-26

Solntseva as one of the great visual stylists in the tradition of Dovzhenko against one of the visually most bland and uninventive eastern european filmmakers?

I think you're pulling my leg, Angel. ;)

Doublers are (fortunately) a heterogeneous group of people from 4 continents. so nothing is written in stone.

Margheriti! That would a bomb. :P

The ICM forum loves Eastern European cinema, mostly Czech and Polish.

Glad to hear! There are so many fantastic eastern european movies that were made during the 20th century.
Unfortunately the works of Zanussi are not among them. :?
