re: bugs & sugs

does clicking on a thread autoload to the new/unread posts in said thread?

i think that hiding your online status works only for so long (one session, i guess, since we login for seshes), then you're no longer hidden

it autoloads to the newest unread post if you click on the red icon instead of the name of the post.

Also - I discovered this today totally by accident -- if you click those two connected talking bubbles beside an unread thread, it takes you directly to the first unread post in that thread.

Okay guys, you can tag people in posts now. Either type

[ mention]Username[ /mention]

or type @ and start typing the person's username and wait for the dropdown menu.

They will get a notification that they've been tagged.

To make sure you receive notifications that you've been tagged, turn that option on at: ucp.php?i=ucp_notifications&mode=notification_options

Can the directors folder be changed to Directors/Cast/Crew or folders or subforums be added for those latter two categories for posts on the careers of others besides just directors?
Also, Filmmaker's City? What's the story with that?

the filmmaker's city was a place for people to post short films they have made :)

Added a Cast/Crew subforum to Film Discussion!

As rischka said, Filmmaker's City is copied (including the title) from the old forum as a place for cats to show their work. Should we change the name to something more clear?

BTW, I moved this discussion to the Bugs & Suggestions board - the request thread is just for the Stop the Lists/Members' Forums section. I edited that topic title to make that more clear.

No need to change the name, it's a fine one. I guess I just never noticed the title at the last site and was curious.

sometimes, when i click in a reply box, or reply to a message, it changes from https to http? (but not in this reply here, but in the STL thread)

why's that? do i just need to clear cookies?

edit: clicked submit on a https and when it reloaded with my reply it's now http NOT SECURE. what is going on?

one of the cool features of zetaboards was the sidebar of most recent posts (listed by how recent the post was, regardless if two diff posts were made in two diff threads in a single subforum). not sure of admin privileges in regards to adding something like that, but it'd be a lot cooler if you did

DT! I believe you have to make a post before you can send PMs. So you should be able to now.

Unfortunately not. Is there a way of lowering the threshold? Stopping short of me spamming the thread with blank posts so I can message someone!

I still miss the old upper left column as it appeared in the Zetaboards format, where the latest post in the latest topic would appear. It is well known that human eyes tend to always glance at the upper left corner of a screen first.

Am I the only one who miss this feature? And if not, is it possible to engineer a CSS solution to this?

I simply click 'new posts' and then from the new posts page, I command-click (opening in new tabs) each of the red page icons for each of the topics. This takes me to the newest unread post from each topic. Works pretty good.

You can also click on the three small horizontal bars in the top right and select "Active topics"... don't think there's a way to have active topics show by default

I now realize my request was somewhat redundant, thoxan's post being practically similar lol.

And yet it gathered two answers! Thanks ;)
