Nope, but I've seen the Thai film, against which I'm sure yours will score an easy victory.

Phaedra's extremely frothy, though I appreciated the sexual frankness and the casting of Anthony Perkins as a boy whose best friend is his (step)mother. Despite its first few minutes, Last Life in the Universe ended up surprising me with a tranquility, so it takes my vote.

I saw and fell in love with Last Life in the Universe at age 17, as a teenager dipping his toes into non-US cinema for the first time. Though I was not nearly a enamored this time through as I was when I last rewatched this 10-ish years ago, I still fell right back into its pacing and melancholy performances. Just getting rid of those staged suicide attempts would help a great deal in making this truly something.

I didn't much like either one of these. The camera tricks during that sex scene between Perkins and Mercouri are probably the thing I'll remember most from it.

last life is a remarkably terrible movie. the three movies pen-ek made before this are good to great but this one is just a total trainwreck...
edit: i'll even go to bat for ploy and headshot, to some extent.
