eh so many of the old forums disappeared. now they're trying to break reddit (i was never a member but it's the last of a dying breed). everything must be monetized

still miss the old web. and that's why we're here i suppose.

P.S. - I'll go vote right now!

They had to clean it up for venture capitalists

The obvious piracy was a big problem I'm sure 😅

Many of the old members are still at kg

Who would have ever thought our little old movie-logging website/online community would morph into a whole streamer/distributor. Wild.

@Rischka - I'm unaware of any piracy that was going on back then, but I can only imagine, now that you mention it lol. Had to have been a lotta KG-heads on there.

hi : )

I'm frisson, found out about SCFZ thanks to some lists I came across on letterboxd (particularly the CoMo ones) and I figured I'd join.
film interest-wise, I like poliziotteschi, eastern/central European animation, mainland Chinese opera, golden-era Mexican film, early color film, & exploring films & traditions from different countries. glad to be here! :typing:

Hi (: I’m Rain or Raini. Used to be very active on theauteurs/mubi forums back in the day under the usernames of Cecil and Lily, including running the Directors Cup one year. Didn’t migrate when the forum met its end but now here I am…

Hi I'm Zuzu! I've seen a few of your lists on letterboxd and I'm wonder what the demographics are of the people polled?

Yes, welcome Zuzu!

Demographics are well-represented by the results: cranky, out-of-touch cinephiles (or perhaps that's just me)!

Hello! I go by Gryffin. I've gotten into film over the last four years or so, and I watch several movies a week now. I'm here because I avoid reddit like the plague and I believe in a decentralized internet. As may or may not be typical these days, it was actually letterboxd that allowed me to find so many films I now love, but I would have had no idea they existed. To that end, here's my letterboxd account.
https://letterboxd.com/Gryffin/

My crowning achievement these last few years is identifying (and yes ranking lol) the top ten first-time viewings that year. Many of these are now my favorite movies period. I've been compiling these yearly lists into one super mega list.

https://letterboxd.com/gryffin/list/bes ... each-year/

Thanks for having me. I'm looking forward to jumping into discussions.

You should always focus on as many things as possible while experiencing art. Also it usually helps to focus on those things, that help you enjoy the film on a deeper level. There are hundreds of beneficial ways of looking at a film.

Hi folks, I'm BattleNug (or Alban, if using pseudonyms feels weird), found my way into the Discord a few months back by way of Lencho's LB wall, and I've been lurking and adding films to my viewing list from this wondrous forum ever since. Thought I should probably say hi! https://letterboxd.com/BattleNug/
