I thought we'd save 1931 for an October.. but sure, let's do a space odyssey.

All lingering year polls will be posted by then. Apologies for the unusual year—had some shitty social life stuff & also was working 60+ hours a week to get into my dream grad schools, which happily, it looks like is going to happen.
(If not, I'd be disappointed about it, but I'm well-past due being fired.)

I'm sure I've seen more, but I've only logged eight movies from 2017. And 1899... is that even a year?

If I had my way, it would be 1895-1965, but it's not supposed to be unilateral judgment to accord with one person's taste and interests.

Maybe it's finally time to create a decade poll? For an earlier decade? Like the 1930's? (I'm watching a lot of 30's films atm)Evelyn Library P.I. wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 2:20 pm If I had my way, it would be 1895-1965, but it's not supposed to be unilateral judgment to accord with one person's taste and interests.

The good thing about a month's worth of worthless years like 2017 and 1899 is that it will allow me to watch movies that I was unable to see from earlier polls - 1938, I'm sure, still holds some delightful surprises, not to mention 1939 - while everyone else is debating the merits or lack thereof of such past and current titans of cinema as Méliès, the Lumière and Manaki brothers, Sofia Coppola, Hong Sang-soo, Yorgos Lantimos, and Noah Baumbach.
