beautiful, thank you. That's arguably my favorite film of all time, though I haven't seen it in almost 10 years. Piavoli is my favorite director. Hope he is doing alright if he is in Italy right now.

Watched Columbo: Murder by the Book (1971) the first official 'episode'/tv movie of Columbo, directed by none other than Steven Spielberg - whose films I have been going through slowly, same year that Duel was released on TV, and it is genuinely fantastic. Lowkey blew my mind with its direction and ...

Seen 64  Weirdly he's the director I've seen the most films from, as I binge-watched most of his available stuff a year ago, and other than about 10 or so, didn't actually care for much. Brian mentioned Melies - prefer him! Barcelone - Parc au crépuscule / Barcelona Park at Twilight (1904, Se...

Re: Spring forth
Yay, love the seasons. Well said about spring being the least visually obvious of the seasons - in the northern hemisphere winter can linger long into spring (as it is doing in Colorado now with snow this morning), or appear in the form of lush greenery, heavy rain, overcast/cloudy weather, blossomi...

Knives Out (2019) Okayish, but no where near as good as the film it plagiarises, Hercule Poirot's Christmas , which executes every facet of the mansion family mystery dymanic with a more striking atmosphere of suspense and drama. The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner (1962) I liked it - as oth...

Most watches were from the first part of the month, started to slow down lately (which is good). Just enjoyed finally watching the Jurassic Park franchise almost solely for entertainment, a nice change from my normal viewings. Long Day's Journey and Primer should be moved up high on people's watchli...

Timepieces
I've always had a fascination with timepieces and dials - watches, clocks, and calendars, especially in film, and usually take a screenshot of them. So this is just a fun thread for myself (and others if they'd like) to post screenshots featuring timepieces in film. https://i.imgur.com/a6pUS5S.png L...

Haven't been this impressed with a newer feature since maybe Serra's Birdsong or Reichardt's Meek's Cutoff , which are not even new anymore, but also haven't w...
